Dior Addict SS 14 (Fluid Stick & Perfume): Sasha Luss by Steven Meisel & Ryan McGinley

Imagen
Sasha is one of my favourite models for several reasons. One of those reasons is her look. She's insanely pretty and looks terrific on the runway. She's also quite versatile. But the main reason is that she's been modelling for 7 years, and it was only a couple of seasons ago when she became a succesful HF model. I love how hard she worked, and I'm glad she didn't give up. She walked a Chanel Pre-fall show once, and she got a couple of eds on Vogue Russia, but it was Raf Simons who really helped her. She walked exclusively for Dior on Raf's first RTW show for the brand ( SS 13). After that, she got a Vogue cover and campaigns for Chanel, Valentino, Lanvin, etc... And now she got a couple of campaigns for Dior too. She really fits this new Dior Raf's created, and she's very pretty. So, it makes sense she booked a beauty campaign. I personally love the Dior Addict line, but I have to admit the campaigns nowadays are not as good as the original ones.

Vogue Japan June 2014: Barbara Palvin by Miles Aldridge

Imagen
I woke up today and these pictures were one of the first things I saw. I can't complain about it =) I absolutely love when Barbara works with Miles. They worked together for an Italian Vogue editorial which was gorgeous. I own that issue and I'm very happy about that, because those pictures are probably my favorites from Barbara's portofolio. This time they did something similar, but quite different at the same time. I love Barbara's facial expressions in these shots. She doesn't look at the camera, but we still get that emotion she's trying to portray. Beautiful make-up, beautiful styling, beautiful pictures...I love everything about this ed.

Marloes Horst: new face of Maybelline

Imagen
Marloes has one of the prettiest faces I've ever seen. Therefore, she needed a beauty contract. Now she has one with Maybelline, and I think she's perfect for the brand. Not only is she pretty, but she also has a kind of beauty that's easy to understand. She's pretty, period. She's not like Frida Gustavsson, for example, who has a more ethereal beauty some people don't like. But it's easy to like Marloes. She looks amazing on these first ads for the brand.

i-D magazine: "How To Pronounce The Hardest Names In Fashion" video

Imagen
Some designer names are kind of tricky to pronounce, and i-D wants to make our life easier. In this video we have several models pronouncing the names properly, so we just have to say it the same way they do. Some designers come from France, some from Italy, some from Asia...it's hard to know how to pronounce all those names. But once you learn, you'll feel powerful xD I'm kidding, but it's actually true. Anytime I talk with friends about fashion (it doesn't happen very often), I try to pronounce simple names like Chanel or Givenchy properly, and they look at me like I'm a fashion goddess or something xD So, now it's time for you to see how many names you can get right ;) Algunos nombres de diseñadores son complicados de pronunciar, y i-D quiere hacernos la vida más fácil.

Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply + Avicii: Addicted to you

Imagen
I already talked to you about Avicii's collaboration with Ralph Lauren "Denim & Supply" (  http://putonachicface.blogspot.com.es/2013/08/fasion-music-collaboration-ralph-lauren.html  ), and today I'm going to talk about the same. Kristina Romanova stars in this video, as she did in the "Wake me up" one. She looks gorgeous as usual, and I'm glad to see they picked her again to be on the music video because that shows how much peope liked her on the other one. I'm not a big fan of this kind of music, but maybe you are. So here you have the music video and a couple of photos from the campaign =) Ya os he hablado de la colaboración de Avicii con Ralph Lauren "Denim & Supply" (  http://putonachicface.blogspot.com.es/2013/08/fasion-music-collaboration-ralph-lauren.html  ), y hoy os quiero hablar de lo mismo.

Alexander Wang for H&M

Imagen
I bet you already know about this collaboration, but I wanted to share my opinion about it with all of you. I think it was an smart move since Alexander Wang is a well-known designer. Most people know him and that's going to make this collaboration very succesful. I'm not a big fan of Wang's designs, but I get why people find him so fascinating. Once we get a proper lookbook or campaign, I'll make a blog post about it. Estad atentos ;)

Hercules: movie trailer

Imagen
Today I'm going to show you a movie trailer. This film is not fashion related but there are two models on it, so it makes sense for me to talk about it. I'm talking about Hercules, which comes out this summer (25th July). Greek mithology is full of beautiful stories that are made into movies. The people who make the scripts usually change the story to make it more exiciting for the viewers. I studied Greek in high school and history in college, so you can get how much I hate when they do that. I hate it mainly because it cofuses people, and they believe what they watch on the tv, instead of believing what I say. Not funny ;) But I'm not trying to be a teacher today. I just wanted to let you know a bit about the caracthers that are played by the two models on this movie. They are Irina Shayk and Barbara Palvin, who are perfect for these roles. I'm sure the director was looking for two gorgeous girls who could look like "Greek goddesses". They don't pla

Proenza Schouler x Mac!

Imagen
You guys know how I feel about the Proenza guys. I love them. When I read they were going to do a collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, I thought I was going to pass out. Do I need more make-up? No. Do I want to buy this entire collection? Hell yes. The packaging is to die for, and I guess the products would have a very nice quality. Here you have the campaign, shot by Mario Sorrenti.

The Face: which country does it better?

Imagen
I don't watch much tv, but I love watching this kind of programs. What can I say? I love me some drama. I watched different editions of Germany's Next Topmodel, and I enjoyed it. I know it's very unlikely to see any of these models becoming tops, but I still find it entertaining. Last year, a new kind of program was created. The Face is not that different, but those little differences are what I enjoy the most. It looks more professional to me, and I like that. Last year I saw the american version, with Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha as mentors. I liked the season, but I didn't like the models who participated. Then I saw the british version, which was amazing. The girsl were way better and so was the price they got for their win. But the most important was how good the mentors were. There was no weak mentor as there was in the USA (hello, Coco!). Naomi is everywhere, just so you know it. However, it was Caroline Winberg who was the best mentor,

Vogue Italia April 2014: Issa Lish, Natalie Westling & Bernd Sassmannhausen by Steven Meisel

Imagen
As I told you on my post about this month's covers, this italian Vogue spread is quite interesting. It tells an story, and I always like that. I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but I still like these pictures. I read a couple of articles where people complain about these images and the message they sent, since they think they are sexist. I seriously don't get these kind of complaints. Fashion is art. And I doubt my neighbour is going to kill me after watching these photos. I don't see how this is worse than the movies everyone watches. I personally love it. But I have to say the male model steals the show. Natalie looks good too, and her hair helps her. Issa is not that good, to be honest. He

Fendi: Inside the mothership

Imagen
A lot of people tell me that watching runway shows and reading fashion magazines isn't enough for them to learn about fashion. And I agree. This is like going to school. You read your textbook and you listen to what your teacher says, but you may also need to read more books about that topic to completely understand what you want to learn. That's why I love these kind of documentaries where we get to see the "behind the scenes" part. I'm sure you've heard about the "September issue", which I recommend if you want to see how a magazine is done. Also, there is another Vogue related documentary called "Les filles en Vogue", which is really good too. But the ones that I recommend the most are those where we can see what happens the day before the fashion show. These are called "Le jour d'avant" and you can find them on youtube. Today I'm going to show you a similar one. In this one we can see what happened at Fendi the d

Vogue covers (April 2014)

Imagen
Vogue Netherlands April 2014 : Sylvie Meis by Paul Bellaart This is a beautiful close-up. I like it. Love the colours too. Es un bonito primer plano. Me gusta. Los colores también son bonitos. Vogue Japan April 2014 : Edie Campbell by Patrick Demarchelier The only reason why I don't dislike this, it is because they tried to make her look like the Edie she used to be. She's not trying to be grunge Edie, and I like that. UK Vogue April 2014 : Nigella Lawson by Nathaniel Goldberg It's not bad. I don't even know who she is, so I can't judge her. Vogue China April 2014 : Edita Vilkeviciute by Daniel Jackson I know it's looks very Vogue Japan, but Edita i
