Put on a Chic face

My gif (Video source: Associated Press) For someone who doesn't really care about the movies, the amfAR Gala is the last big event of the Cannes festival.  Many models attend and also celebrities who join every single party. And we get so many red carpet looks, that they can't all be good.  I just wanted to briefly tell you a few of my favourites and a few of my least favourites. Irina is back! And of course, the drama is back as well. Because, you know, she's not allowed to be hot. Basically. As someone who comes from Spain, I've heard it all when it comes to Irina. Dating a football superstar makes you a very easy target and Spaniards do love their gossip. But then again, don't we all? Most of the time, I had to hear the annoying "well, I didn't really know her before she started dating Ronaldo, but...", and it drove me insane. You didn't know her, cool, but then stop talking about her career as if you knew about it. My patience runs out very easily when people talk about things they know nothing about in front of me. But anyways, it's not as bad as it was listening to journalists debating for hours about how it was Irina's fault that her ex wasn't scoring any goals. It can't get worst than that. If you have been following my blog for a couple of years, you'll know that I used to be obsessed with Vanessa. She could do no wrong, but I guess she did. Her decisions, or her agency's, led her to disappear a bit from the fashion world, despite being the model of the moment. And, she still works for major brands but...it's not the same. Seeing her in Cannes was a huge surprise, and I think she looked amazing. Obviously, it was Jean Paul Gaultier who took her to the festival with him. And I'm also assuming that her outfit was made for the occasion. It was very different from what we usually see on this red carpet, and I appreciated that effort. Second post about Cannes. And let me tell you one thing...I'm struggling. I don't seem to like anything celebs wear, so I don't really know who I should write about. Dramatic! Thankfully, I saw this look before going to bed last night and I knew I was going to feature it on this Cannes series. Time for Cannes! As usual, I didn't even realized the festival had started until I saw all the pictures on social media. I'm not big on cinema. That's why I focus on the dresses the stars wear on the premieres, because I'm much better at judging that. Though, I am quite judgy when it comes to rating actors from tv shows. So, as you know, I love hearing myself talk...or, in this case, I love reading my own words. And that means I usually love writing long posts where I talk about life in general. And today, you'll be able to read my story about Elle Fanning. A year ago, I went to Westminster Abbey for the Gucci Cruise show, and Elle attended the event as well. Since I'm not a massive movie person, it took me a second to recognize her when she was standing right in front of me. And let me tell you, I was impressed in the best way possible. She was super nice to everyone, and I was able to see how tall and beautiful she is in person.  She'

We usually talk about how important social media is nowadays for a model. Just a few can make it to the very top without millions of followers and models are aware of that. As sad as it is, since talent should be the main skill a model needs to do her job, it is a reality. And that is why some models try to become more known, either on instagram or on youtube. Karlie Kloss' channel is obviously the most popular, but other models have one too. And that's what I wanted to you about today. Mariana has walked for brands such as Prada or Dior, and on her last video she shows us some backstage action from the Chanel Cruise show. She also speaks Spanish, which is kind of new when it comes to models as well. If you want me to find more models with youtube channels, let me know! Julia is one of my favourite models for many reasons. One of those being her perfect face, which is perfect for beauty ads. The lovely people for Armani notices as well, and booked her for this gorgeous beauty campaign. Everytime I go to Selfridges and see the ad, I just feel like buying everything on the stand...it is that good. And now they also play videos with her on a massive screen. I kind of love how I always go back to the same models...I'm that loyal. And you already know that I've been Romee's fan since the beginning of her career. While I adore her as a VS angel and a spokesmodel, my favourite kind of Romee is high fashion Romee. I did like the collection but, once again, what really caught my eye was the beauty look. Mainly because of how simple it is, but at the same time it is a statement look.
