Porter Magazine Summer '16: Jessica Chastain by Ryan McGinley

Imagen
When I moved to London, I wasn't aware that Porter Magazine was a British magazine. It was a very pleasant surprise.  They only produce 4 issues every year (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), but each of them is incredible. Quality over quantity.  This summer issue proves my point. The cover and the cover story are stunning! (I love Jessica). And the rest of the editorials (I'll show you my two favourites) are high quality as well. Also, what I like the most is their articles. Those are always very interesting. In this issue there's an article about social media and the way it's affecting our lives. The title is "Are we dangerously in love with ourselves?", and it was written by Vassi Chamberlein. Very interesting read. You pay 5 pounds for each issue = 20 pounds/year. It may look like a lot of money for just 4 magazines, but I even found it cheap. Amazing magazine! "Girl on fire", Jessica Chastain by Ryan McGinley

My new Valentino sunglasses (+ video)

Imagen
During the last 4 years, I've been telling you that Valentino is my favourite brand. I enjoy everything they do and it even makes me emotional.  That's why I was waiting for the new store in Old Bond Street (London) to open. Oh my God! It's stunning. Everything has its own space, we're able to see all the different accessories and pieces of clothing properly, ...and there's lots of space to move around the store. Also, all the people who work there are ridiculously nice and they make your visit to the store perfect.  If you're in London, go visit this new store because it's eye candy, and so is everything they sell there. Sunglasses are an obsession for me. I love them, and I enjoy trying new shapes and seeing how they look on me. We all have different features, and we have to find the kind of shades that look better on us. I personally like big sunglasses, like these ones I'm showing you today. These were featured in the Fall/Winter 15.16 cam

Boxer braids & bright lip (Inspired by Karlie Kloss)

I've done what I thought impossible: a make-up/hair "tutorial". I'm by no means an expert on those things so, calling this a tutorial feels kind of wrong. I already mentioned that I got to see Karlie after the Topshop show, back in February. And I loved her look for that front rown appearance. Trendy, simple and flattering. I wanted to use this look as an inspiration to create the look shown in this video. It's pretty simple, make-up wise, and I love a hot pink lip. For the hair, she went for one of the trendiest hair styles of the moment: boxer braids. Hers are much more complicated to achieve than mine. But I also have double the amount of hair she has so...it's not easy. Anyway, I hope this videos is useful. I know the light sucks, but I tried my best. And, to be honest, the best part of the video is right at the end. I don't know what happened to me, but those last 40 seconds when I start to say things that don't make sense are hil

Interview Magazine, April 2016: Julia Bergshoeff by Fabien Baron

Imagen
Fabien Baron loves working with Julia and, why shouldn't he? It's an easy job. Last season I was disappointed because Julia didn't do any shows. But she had a semi-comeback (she never left, really) this season, and I finally got to see her in person. Drop dead gorgeous! But, even though I LOVE her on the runway, it's her print work that has me obsessed with her, her look and her talent. How could I not share this editorial with you? It'd be rude. As you can see, it's pretty dark. The styling, the sets, the lightning, ...it creates a beautiful mood. Her poses are on point, of course. But I also like the way the images have been cropped. I suppose it looks great when you have the magazine and you can see the pictures in the right order. But I don't have the magazine, so I can't really tell you which order is the right one. My only complaint is that there isn't a video (or at least I haven't been able to find one) where we can se

"The future of fashion" documentaries, Alexa Chung for British Vogue

Imagen
This isn't the first time I talk to you about a fashion documentary. And I seriously doubt it'll be the last. As with any other topic, if you want to really learn about it, you'll have to do some research. For some people, watching a documentary is more entertaining that reading a book. And, if you pick the right one, it can be as informative. I mean, I love reading but...when it comes to fashion, I kind of like documentaries better.  That's why I was looking forward to these series of videos Alexa Chung has been doing in colaboration with UK Vogue. There are 2 series of "The future of fashion" that are really interesting. I particularly like the second, in which Alexa goes to NY, since they used the feedback they got after publishing series 1 to create a series of videos where most of our questions are answered. That's what you call a 21st century documentary, isn't it? Once all the videos were out, they uploaded new ones where you could fi

Vogue Japan April 2016: Willow Hand by Emma Tempest

Imagen
Vogue Japan keeps producing beautiful editorials. Too bad their covers are awful. I own the VJ issue (April '16) where we can find this editorial, and I'm so glad I do. It's gorgeous in so many levels and Willow is cute as a button. And when I got the magazine, I realised I had forgotten to add this ed to my "to write" list of posts.  These are the kind of pictures you can't look at just once. You could stare at them for hours. They're cute, they're fun, the show you some trends. What else can you ask for? And like I said, Willow is just too adorable. She looks like a doll, doesn't she? I reckon this kind of beauty (she has a bit of Gemma, a bit of Vlada, a bit of Lisa Cant, ...) works really well in countries like Japan. They should hire her more often for their eds...or cover, why not? Great ed. What do you think? =) The Glorious Geek Vogue Japón sigue produciendo editoriales preciosos. Una pena que su

Stern Mode #12 SS 2016: Anna Ewers by Ryan McGinley

Imagen
I finished talking about campaigns and it's time to show you some editorials I really love. I'll talk about other things too, but mainly editorials that I've been saving during the last couple of months. Any post requests? ;) Why do I like this ed? I'm not sure, to be honest. But I do. I just think it's incredibly visual and colorful. I feel like they even managed to make the pictures with the total white looks colorful, which is tricky. The contrast with the blue sky is stunning. They really made the most out of the different backgrounds, and made them part of the story. I appreciate that. And then you have Anna, who adds tons of personality to the photos, as usual.  Some people say this looks very amateur and, even though I respect their opinion, I have to disagree.  I would love to know your opinion, to see which side gets more support. Are you on my team? ;) +Missing pictures than include
