Milan Fashion Week FW 18.19: Max Mara & Prada beauty

Imagen
There were three big shows yesterday (Max Mara, Prada & Fendi), and all three collections were a dream. But what I really want to show today is the make-up used for two of those shows. -Max Mara: Starting the day with Max Mara was great, and the beauty created for the show was one of the reasons. There two looks that are so me, I actually got comments from people saying that I was their muse. I have weird friends. One of those looks was a very flawless face with pretty much nothing on the eyes, cheeks, etc...but a very strong hot pink lip. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with that kind of look. The second one was a black smokey eye that, paired with the hair style, gave us a strong rock vibe. And I always appreciate those.

London Fashion Week FW 18.19: Burberry February Show

Imagen
Burberry is one of those brands that are famous enough to be known by people who are not interested in fashion. Same for its aesthetic. But now thar Christopher Bailey is no longer going to design for them, will it change? I have been following fashion shows for eleven years now, and I feel like I have a very specific image in my head when it comes to Burberry. I liked some shows more than others, but it was a constant in my fashion life.  Most designers just create a collection that shows their best work from their time on whichever brand, but this time it was different. It was nice to see a designer taking a bit of a risk on his final collection.  By the colours, it's also easy to see the tribute to the LGBT+ community, which is also wonderful to see.

New York Fashion Week FW 18.19: Ralph Lauren show & Sanne Vloet's vlog

Imagen
Ralph Lauren Funnily enough, the Ralph Lauren show is a "see now, buy now" show, which means it's actually a SS 2018 collection. However, it's been presented now, so it's now when I'll talk about it. I love it, simple as that. There is something about Ralph Lauren that I love, and it's probably how simple yet incredibly flattering his designs are. He wants to make women and men look good, and that's just a great concept. The set was very appropiate for the collection and I love the opening of the show. And I need to give credit where credit is due to all the models that walked on that runway barefoot. That's not easy, believe me.

New York Fashion Week FW 18.19: Proenza Schouler's "Arizona" perfume & Colovos fashion show

Imagen
First post of the fashion month and I'm already apologizing for not posting anything on Saturday. It's busy around here, but today I have two things in one...to compensate. "Arizona", first fragance by Proenza Schouler: Vittoria Ceretti by Tyrone Lebon Anyone who knows me just a little, will know I adore Proenza Schouler. And I adore fragances as well, so this was definetely a match made in heaven. Add Vittoria to the mix, and I can't deal with all these fashionable feelings. There was an event during NYFW to present this fragance and Vittoria was there looking her best.

Zara Spring/Summer '18 by Steven Meisel

Imagen
Three seasons ago, Zara surprised us hiring Steven Meisel to shoot their campaign. They worked with important photographers before, but getting Meisel was the final step. I have been a massive fan of this collaboration, specially last season. After two dark collections, we finally get some colour. It also has a Prada vibe that I love. As in his previous two campaigns for the brand, Meisel has included Vittoria on the cast. It's also great to see Fran, one of my new favourites.

Karlie Kloss at the "Good Girl" (Carolina Herrera) event in London

Imagen
A couple of weeks ago, Karlie Kloss visited London to promote "Good Girl", the CH fragance she's the face of. I was fairly surprised to see it still wasn't out in the UK and it made me want to go and try it. I took a look at the notes and it confused me a litte. The main notes seem to be almond and coffee, but the notes mentioned on press notes are jasmine, nard and cacao. Add lily, sandalwood and vanilla and you get your very own Good Girl. According to CH and Karlie herself, this fragance shows a woman's strenght and her duality. I think that is a beautiful concept and very modern as well. Gone are the times when women could only be soft and sensitive. A woman can be soft and tough, feminine and masculine, ...she can be whatever she wants to be. It's a very strong message and getting a feminine, strong and intelligent women like Karlie to promote it makes all the sense. The name of the fragance and their motto is also super fitting. "It

Talking music: Nothing More

Imagen
As I said on my last book review, I really enjoyed talking about non-fashion things during December. Fashion is something I'm very passionate about, but music is something I can't live without. Lately, I've been listening to Nothing More's latest album (The stories we tell ourselves) a lot. It's a band I knew about, but I never really got into their sound completely. This last album is, in my opinion, so much better than their previous stuff. Really, check it out. It's not as heavy as I usually go for, so don't be scared ;) I'll tell you briefly about my favourite songs. Últimamente, he estado escuchando mucho el último disco de Nothing More (The stories we tell ourselves).

Max Mara Spring/Summer '18: Cara Taylor by Steven Meisel

Imagen
Cara Taylor is one of the models of the moment on the catwalk, and her campaign season proves she is doing equally well on the print department. She may or may not feature on my "Queen of the campaign season" Awards. But what is more important is that she is getting quantity, and making it feel like quality as well. I have said in the past that I don't really like her on the runway, but that I find her to be really good in print. Put that on the same sentence as Steven Meisel, and you get this campaign. The last four Max Mara campaigns featured four different models, but it was Meisel who shot them all and...he created magic four times in a row. Not that I'm surprised, because that is just what he does.  When it comes to other clients of his, he has a harder job because the clothes are...well, not that easy to show off. But Max Mara is not one of those clients, and I guess that makes his job slightly easier. Still, I can't take any credit away from
