Abuse and harassment in fashion (My thoughts, Terry Richardson, etc...)

Imagen
The last couple of weeks have been pretty intense because of the Harvey Weinstein controversy. It has open Pandora's box, and nothing good happens when we open that box. It has also opened a debate in the fashion industry, where people discuss the abuse models have suffered, mainly while they were still underage. It is obviously a very serious topic, and that's why I want to address it.  I have to start by saying that everything we've seen and read in the last couple of weeks shows how messed up the world is. If a powerful woman (I'm talking actresses known everywhere, with tons of influence and that are respected by many) doesn't feel like she can tell the world that she has been harassed, what kind of hope is left for the rest of us? No matter how powerful you are, really. If you are a victim, you'll be victim blamed. Society will make you feel like it's your fault (spoiler alert: it never is your fault). And most people around you will just look

I was looking at the blog's schedule, and I realized there was nothing planned for today. And then I thought about writing about this editorial, or this cover, or this campaign...but I didn't really want to do that for some reason. That's when I thought that I never really tell you about the things that I like (that aren't fashion related). I only do that kind of post at the end of the year, but I can also tell you from time to time about those things that have me obsessed. -Music: Despite having quite an ecl

Byredo 'Velvet Haze' Fragrance 2017 : Kiki Willems by Craig McDean

Imagen
Remember when I talked about Kiki being the queen of the campaign season and scoring 9 campaigns? Well, make it 10. And this one has to my favourite because of how they played with the colours. The orangy-red paired with her bright hair, the little pops of blue that match her eyes...  Eye catching for sure.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2017: Angels and contracted models

Less than a month for the VSFS 2017, and it is about time I start talking about it. I will be doing three posts about the models who are walking the show this year and, as always, I'm going to start with the Angels and the contracted models.  My favourites out of this bunch? Romee, Taylor and Grace Elizabeth. Romee, Taylor y Grace Elizabeth. Angels : Adriana Lima (Brazil, The Society) Alessandra Ambrosio (Brazil, IMG) Candice Swanepoel (South Africa, IMG) Elsa Hosk (Sweden, IMG) Jasmine Tookes (USA, IMG) Josephine Skriver (Denmark, The Society) Lais Ribero (Brazil, Women) Lily Aldridge (USA, IMG) Martha Hunt (USA, IMG) Romee Strijd (The Netherlands, IM

Celebrity streetstyle: Ana de Armas, at the Late Late Show

If you are from a country that isn't the USA, you'll understande what I am about to say. Do you know that moment when someone famous in your country manages to get some attention from the US media, and you see them on their shows and think: wow! I didn't see that coming. That is what happened to me when the press tour for the new Blade Runner movie began and I saw Ana standing next to Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. Wow indeed! For those of you who don't know her, Ana is from Cuba, but became an it girl in Spain years ago because she starred in a very popular TV show (El Internado). A show that I never watched, but it was impossible not to know about the plot and the actors because everyone around me talked about it. Same thing happens now with GOT. After that show, I didn't see her in many shows, movies or magazines. My guess was that the industry just moved onto the next it girl, but I was very wrong. She moved to the USA to try and get some goo

Choose the right eye-cream for you with Reviews.com

If you have been following my blog for a long time, you will have noticed there is something "missing". And that is skincare. I have mentioned campaigns about skincare products in the past, but I have never talked about skincare myself, because I am far from being an expert. A couple of weeks ago, a member of the website "Reviews.com" team asked me if I wanted to talk about their research about eye-cream and it honestly felt like the perfect topic to add to my blog. Because, again, I am no expert, but this study is incredibly detailed and there you will be able to find all the answers I can't give you. The biggest issue when talking about skincare is the fact that we all have different types of skin. I have dry and sensitive skin and the products that work for me won't work for someone with oily skin. Another reason why I was quite interested in not just talking about this research, but also read it myself, was my age. I'm 28 and look

Barbara Palvin at the Miu Miu/LOVE Magazine party

When I first created this blog (many moons ago), I was obsessed with Barbara. And sometimes I just look at her and think: well, that's why! She is a ridiculously beautiful human being, and when she is properly styled, just a few can beat her beauty. This is one of those examples of perfect style. Though I admit I'm biased in this case, because I love that ponytail more than I love any other hairstyle, and it just looks perfect on her. Paired with that make-up and dress, they managed to make her look like a doll. Though, to be fair, it's not the hardest thing to achieve.
