Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2017: Thoughts on the show!

Imagen
Showtime! Another year, another VSFS. My 9th year watching it on the day it comes out, and it was quite underwhelming. I'm going to divide my thoughts in three categories: models, segments and performers. I have a loooot to say. ¡Showtime! Otro año, otro VSFS. Mi noveno año viéndolo el día en que se emite, y ha sido algo decepcionante.  Voy a dividir mis opiniones en tres categorías: modelos, segmentos y artistas. Tengo muuuucho que contar. Models : It's quite hard to give the models feedback when you can barely see their work. The way the show is edited gets worse every year, and we see less and less of the models' walks. An example is Bella Hadid, who we could see on small previews that she walked really well. Yet on the final edit, you don't really see the proper angles and her walk looks more average. Same for most models. Josephine was the angel that got the biggest amount of air time, and it's clear that they want her to be the

Model's style: Romee Strijd at the Russell James Book Presentation

While in China, the VS Angels attended more events than just the fashion show. And that means we got to see some red carpet appearances from them.  I've mentioned Romee's style in the past, because I adore it, so I was definetely looking forward to seeing her outfits for these events.  This look she wore to attend the presentation of Russell James' new book was the best one of that day.  The structure of the dress made it more interesting, while the prints were very appropiate for an event in Asia. It was styled much better than on the runway, and her simple hair and make-up were perfect to make both the dress and her beauty shine.

Grace Elizabeth for V Magazine Winter '17

We all know I like Grace Elizabeth and that I loved her work with Steven Meisel, because it really showed me a versatility I thought she was capable of. However, I think that this editorial might be my favourite fashion thing she's ever done. The whole story screams Bruce Weber, doesn't it? And I reckon his style and Grace's beauty blend beautifuly. All the photos feel very special and that's why I stared at them for almost a minute when I first saw them. Great job! "Grace Elizabeth by No Other Name" Ph: Bruce Weber Todos sabemos que me gusta Grace Elizabeth y que me encantó todo su trabajo con Steven Meisel, porque me mostró una versatilidad que sabía que ella podía conseguir. Sin embargo, creo que este editorial es mi trabajo favorito de toda su carrera. La historia entera es muy Bruce Weber. Y yo creo que su estilo y la belleza de Grace crean una combinación preciosa. Todas las fotos tienen un algo

Zara "Mid-town Warm Up" lookbook, Cara Taylor and Myrthe Bolt

Whenever I go, I pick favourite stores. And here in London one Zara is my clear favourite. It is the one in Oxford Street that it is the closest to the Tottenham Court Road tube station. I like the way things are organized and I love the big screens where they show the campaigns and lookbooks. It is while browsing that store that I saw this lookbook. I immediately recognized Cara Taylor (who I kind of like in print, but not on the runway) and I had to search the name of the other model. It's Myrthe Bolt. I've been trying to find the name of the photographer, but I had no luck. Too bad because he/she deserves some credits for these really nice pictures. According to Zara, this collection is a "modern take on retro classics" that has an 80's touch when it comes to volume. I think it is a pretty solid collection. Vaya donde vaya, elijo tiendas favoritas. Y mi Zara favorito en Londres es el que está en Oxford Street, cerc

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2017: Photos & First impressions

Well, Monday was a long day and now the VSFS is over. But it really isn't over, because it'll be broadcasted on tv next week. So, part 1 of the whole thing is over. I usually put all the pictures in order, but they made quite a few changes and I don't really know who walked when. So I'll tell you who opened and who closed and then just put all the other models. My first impression is that my faves got great outfits, so I'm happy. Goddesses was my favourite segment, and Punk was my least favourite. I really disliked how they made the models walk together.  Very sad to see Ale leaving the brand, but it was overdue in a way.  I didn't like having artists on every single segment. And I really disliked all the body shaming that was going on either on social media or forums. Calling Sara Sampaio or Candice Swanepoel pregnant just because they were bloated is more dangerous than what you think. And, even though I don't like her, Sara's message on soc
