Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016: Review #5

What happened yesterday? Well, I just felt like it wasn't worth it to have a post to talk about 2 shows. So today I'm talking about today's shows, but also about yesterday's. It makes sense in my head.

¿Que pasó ayer? Bueno, pues que me pareció que no merecía la pena hablar de solo dos desfiles. Así que hoy hablaré de los de hoy y de los de ayer. En mi cabeza todo tiene sentido.

  -Céline:

So, I guess we all agree on one thing: I don't know where this is going. It's like they've been changing dramatically the style in the last couple of seasons, and it's impossible for me to guess what they'll show next. 

And then it's like, some things are pretty, but others are just awful. I don't know, I don't really understand this collection.

Vale, creo que todos estamos de acuerdo en una cosa: no se sabe hacia donde va la marca. Han estado cambiando su estilo de manera dramática en las últimas temporadas, y es imposible adivinar que será lo siguiente que hagan.

Y luego está lo de que hay piezas bonitas, pero también hay otras que son muy feas. No se, no entiendo esta colección. 

  -Alexander McQueen:

Ok, I really didn't see that coming but...I really liked this collection. Definetely the best Sarah has done for the brand. It shows her personality as a designer, but it also has a nice McQueen touch.
And it just works. The hair, the make-up, ...it was really beautiful.

Vale, no la vi venir esta pero...me ha gustado mucho esta colección. Sin duda la mejor que Sarah ha hecho para la marca. Muestra su personalidad como diseñadora, y también tiene el toque necesario de McQueen.

Y funciona como conjunto. El pelo, el maquillaje, ...precioso.

  -Stella McCartney:

Best part of the show? My queen Maria Sharapova was on the front row. The rest...same old, same old. It's like she doesn't even try. I do love what Kate G. is wearing, though.

¿La mejor parte del desfile? Que mi reina Maria Sharapova estaba en primera fila. El resto...pues lo mismo de siempre. Yo creo que ya ni intenta hacer algo nuevo. Pero si que he de decir que me encanta lo que lleva puesto Kate G.

  -Giambattista Valli:

I've been quite harsh on him lately, but only because I think he can give us way more as a designer. This time I won't be too hard, because I like the collection. It's better than the last 2, which were a bit disappointing.

The cast, however, doesn't make sense. This is all girly and soft, so having Roos opening the show makes sense. Gigi closing, not so much.

He sido bastante dura con él últimamente, porque se que nos puede ofrecer mucho más. Esta vez no seré tan dura, ya que me ha gustado bastante la colección. Es mejor que las dos últimas, que fueron algo decepcionantes.

El cast, sin embargo, no tiene mucho sentido. Esta colección es super femenina y suave, así que poner a Roos a abrir el desfile tiene todo el sentido. Poner a Gigi a cerrarlo, no tiene tanto sentido.

  -Hermès:

So, let's start by saying the collection is beautiful. However, it's not good.

Why isn't it good? Well, because it's just a bunch of pretty clothes with no personality at all. I could have designed this, you could have designed this, ...it doesn't have that kind of personality that makes you say: oh look, that definetely belongs to Hermès.

Too bad, because the clothes are really pretty.

Empecemos diciendo que la colección es bonita, pero no buena. 

¿Por qué no buena? Bueno, porque consiste en un montón de ropa bonita sin personalidad alguna. Yo podría haber diseñado esta colección, vosotros podríais haber diseñado esta colección, ...no tiene ese toque de personalidad que te hace decir: anda mira, eso es Hermès seguro.

Una pena, porque la ropa es bien bonita.
