MET Gala 2018: Best dressed

Yesterday, it was the first Monday of May. And that can only mean one thing...the MET Gala. It was also a Bank Holiday here but it's not as important, for whatever reason.

And I thought I could tell you about my favourite outfits for the night, and while I was looking at the looks, I thought I would do a little countdown. 

Ayer fue el primer lunes de Mayor, y eso solo puede significar una cosa...la gala del MET. También era festivo aquí, pero no es algo tan importante.

Y pensé que os podía decir cuales fueron mis outfits favoritos de la noche, pero en una cuenta atrás.

  -Madonna, Jean Paul Gaultier:

It says a lot about the rests of the guests, and not in a good way, that Madonna was the only one wearing JPG. Because, you know, he only has hundreds of designs that fit the theme.

It's no surprise that Madonna did well yesterday, because this is her look. She's done it a hundred times, and it looks natural on her.

Dice mucho del resto de invitados, y no lo digo de buenas, que Madonna fuera la única que vistió de Jean Paul Gaultier. Total, solo tiene cientos de diseños que pegaban con la temática.

No sorprende a nadie que Madonna fuera bien ayer, ya que este es su look. Lo ha llevado miles de veces, y resulta natural verla así.

 -Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Ralph Lauren:

Many guests decided to just look good. That was their main goal, and they couldn't care less about the theme. Well, Rosie taught them you can fit the theme and look better than the rest.

Muchos invitados decidieron ir guapos. Ese era su objetivo, y les daba absolutamente igual la temática. Pues bueno, Rosie les enseñó que se puede ir acorde a la temática y aún así estar más guapa que el resto. 

  -Taylor Hill, Diane von Furstenberg:

The best look of the night, without a doubt. As opposed to pretty much everyone else, Taylor went for a more masculine inspiration. But the best thing about this look is that if you took a couple of things out, it could work on any event. 

For me, the MET Gala doesn't equal Carnival. It's an opportunity to adapt your look to a specific theme, while keeping it realistic and wearable. And this is the case here.

El mejor look de la noche, sin duda alguna. Al contrario que la mayoría, la inspiración de Taylor fue masculina. Pero lo mejor del look es que modificando pequeñas cosas, vale para cualquier evento.

Para mi, la gala del MET no es el Carvanal. Es una oportunidad de adaptar tu look a una temática concreta, pero sin que sea cero realista y sin que pierda el adjetivo ponible. Y esto es lo que ha conseguido Taylor.
