Meet Meghan Roche: New Face from the USA

Imagen
Meghan Roche (Pennsylvania, USA)                -Who is she? Meghan is an American model that I first noticed in July of last year, when she starred in the Givenchy campaign lensed by Meisel.  I actually did a post about that campaign and mentioned I wasn't sure if I liked her, or if I just liked that picture Meisel took. Well, now I know for sure it is her I like. -Career highlights so far: Of course, her Givenchy campaign is one. And the exclusive she did for them the following season is a highlight as well. She mostly has had runway highlights so...

Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2018: Valentino, Chanel, Dior, ...

Imagen
Another Couture season has ended, and it felt very similar to me to the last few. By that I mean that I was kind of disappointed by most shows, but Valentino arrived and saved the day.  It is not just about creating good collections, it is about understanding HC as a concept. And I think Pierpaolo is really good at that. Another positive surprise was Givenchy. It was Clare's debut on the Couture world, and I have to say that I liked it way more than expected.  In the model department, someone who keeps on capturing my attention is Fran Summers, who walked most shows and opened Valentino. Vittoria and Kiki had yet another great season as well. ...

Meghan Roche for Givenchy FW 17.18, by S. Meisel

Imagen
Now that Ricardo left Givenchy, I was wondering what was going to happen with the brand. Clare is a designer that I loved for Chloé but, what about Givenchy? Those two brands couldn't be more different.  This campaign shows that the brand will still have that dark vibe it had before. But the question is: for how long?  Only time will tell. But the reason why I wanted to talk about this is to show you this picture of Meghan Roche, a model I didn't know about until she appeared on this campaign. And something strange happened when I saw this picture, because I just fell in love and that doesn't happen often. Then I wondered if it was just the Meisel effect, and by looking at her instagram...I think it was that. Is she going to be able to produce another shot like that one without Meisel's magic? I hope so, because this picture of her is already iconic for me.

Campaign season queens (S/S 17): Vittoria Ceretti

Imagen
14 years-old Vitto, 2013 Today I wanted to talk to you about one of the campaign queens of the season. Since I haven't talked about many campaigns this season, I thought it'd be nice to show you a good bunch of them while talking about the two models who scored the most ads this season.  I'm talking about Vittoria and Kiki Willems, two of my favourites. Vittoria got 9 campaigns and Kiki 10, but I will talk about her on Friday. Vitto started her career in 2013, and she managed to book some good shows and campaigns, mainly for Armani and D&G. But it wasn't until Ashley Brokaw gave her the seal of appoval that she got all the (deserved) attention she's getting now. For the SS 17 season, she got 9 campaigns and she was also part of the March cover of US Vogue, which is an incredible achievement for a model. Here are her campaigns: Ralph Lauren Icons, by Steven Meisel YSL 03, by Nathalie Canguilhem Fendi, by Karl Lagerfeld ...

Spring/Summer 2017 campaigns: Alberta Ferretti, Givenchy & Bottega Veneta

The other day I mentioned that I was just talking about my six favourite campaigns. I may not have explained it properly, though. Out of those 6 campaigns, 4 and a half are my favourites. But I also wanted to show you most of Vittoria's campaigns, since she's the campaing queen for the season. Once all the campaigns are over, I'll do a post talking about all of her campaigns to sum it up for you. So...let's talk about three more campaigns. Alberta Ferretti Spring/Summer 2017: Irina Shayk, Vittoria Ceretti, Carolyn Mur...

Runway star of the season: Vittoria Ceretti

My gif (Video source: A Fashion's yt channel) I have mentioned Vittoria in the past, for different reasons. The first one being that she's a really sweet and hard working girl, and those are my kind of girls. And the main reason being that her success makes me really happy because she deserves it for being the kind of girl she is. After some seasons getting decent jobs, she started to book the major ones. Now she has campaigns for Prada and Steven Meisel is in love with her. Her look is timeless, and her professionality may be the key to her longevity as a model. When you first see her you just see a pretty girl, but once you really look at her you see so much more. Her last season was already good, but this SS 17 one was absolutely flawless. Let's see some of the highlights ;) He mencionado a Vittoria en el pasado, por diferentes motivos.

Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 16.17: Review #6

First of all, I apologise for not writing a post yesterday. But I just wasn't in the mood. I hope you understand. -Givenchy: As promised on Sunday, I'm talking about the Givenchy collection now. The collection is supossed to have an Egyptian inspiration, but I honestly fail to see it. This brand feels very unispired to me, and it has for a while. Quite disappointing. Bastante decepcionante.   -Stella McCartney: Speaking of unispired...even the cast is. Now the good models walk for Sacai. That says quite a lot about a brand, actually.

Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 16.17: Review #5

-Balenciaga: Where should I begin? I guess a story is a good beginning. I slept really bad last night, and I was attacked (twice!!) by a spider that refused to die. So when I was finally awake and safe, I just wanted to have a quite morning. Well, this show didn't help. It made me choke on my tea. Thank God I was wearing a black t-shirt. Stains are no fun. I mean, what is this? The cast terrified me, but it apparently is the type of cast this designer enjoys. Oh well, I better get used to it. Clothes wise, I guess it's a step in the right direction. But I'm very superficial sometimes and I can't get over the cast.  Though, to be honest, I've never really cared about Balenciaga. So I'd rather see this happening here than on one of my favourite brands.

Spring/Summer 2016 campaigns: La Perla, Sportmax, Givenchy & Dsquared2

My gif (Video source: Givenchy's yt channel) The last couple of seasons, we've witnessed different kinds of comebacks. Gemma's is probably the one that we didn't see coming, and that made it special on its own. But there's a model who's always there. She doesn't do much runway anymore, because she doesn't need it. But she's always there, getting campaigns and covers. I'm talking about the iconic Mariacarla Boscono. I said all of that because she got quite a few campaigns and Vogue covers in the last months. However, we can't call it a comeback because, as I said, she never left. Let's just talk about 4 of the 5 campaigns she got (I won't be talking about Nars, but it deserves the mention). No hace mucha pasa...
