Talking music: Nothing More

Imagen
As I said on my last book review, I really enjoyed talking about non-fashion things during December. Fashion is something I'm very passionate about, but music is something I can't live without. Lately, I've been listening to Nothing More's latest album (The stories we tell ourselves) a lot. It's a band I knew about, but I never really got into their sound completely. This last album is, in my opinion, so much better than their previous stuff. Really, check it out. It's not as heavy as I usually go for, so don't be scared ;) I'll tell you briefly about my favourite songs. Como ya dije en mi última reseña de un libro, disfruté mucho de hablar de cosas no relacionadas con la moda durante diciembre. La moda es algo que me apasiona, pero la música es algo sin lo que no puedo vivir. Últimamente, he estado escuchando mucho el último disco de Nothing More (The stories we tell ourselves). Es un grupo que conocía, pero nunca me acabé de hacer fa...

Lzzy Hale's streetstyle #blogmasday22

The final random post for blogmas is here! And I struggled a lot when deciding what to talk about. Actually, it was my friend Verónica (justkarliekloss on tumblr) who led me to this idea.  As a massive music fan, I like to research my favourite musicians. That can lead to disappointment, because being talented and being a jerk can go together. But it also leads to becoming a fan of a musician both as an artist and as a person. That happened to me with Lzzy, who is the sweetest most badass rocker you'll ever find.  Another thing that I love about her is how she empowers women and men with her social media and the messages she sends on interviews. More people like her is what we need. Talking about her style, is like talking about how I want to look most of the time. But I can't be bothered. She's tall, has a great body and a beautiful face. But it is that personality that makes her absolutely gorgeous.  However, we are here today to talk about her style, w...

My favourite song: "Afterlife", by Avenged Sevenfold #blogmasday20

When I decided to do blogmas, I knew I was going to struggle with the random posts. I didn't want them to just be about books or music, because that could be boring. But the truth is that those are the two things that keep me sane, so it makes sense that I talk about them a lot. I also told myself: Ana, do not write 20 posts about A7X! Stop annoying everyone! And I only wrote 2 about them in a whole month, so don't bite me ;) It can't be denied that it is a band that has changed many things in my life, and one of those things is my favourite song. It used to be "Knights of Cydonia" by Muse, but now it isn't anymore.  The one that becomes your favourite isn't always the one that catches your attention immediately, and this example proves it. While I was listening to the entire A7X catalogue, "Afterlife" didn't speak to me that much the first couple of times that I listened to it.  However, since I'm a music freak, just listen...

Asking Alexandria, "The Black" album #blogmasday14

It's been quite a year for me when it comes to music. I've been way more open to listening to bands I never bothered with, and I've been pleasently surprised in many cases. Don't be like I used to be, and just listen to everything, because you never know what may speak to you. One of those cases has been Asking Alexandria. But...there is a catch. Most fans of the band love Danny, the original singer who is now back in the band. I...don't really like him. I became a fan because of their album "The Black", the one without Danny. And, despite trying to get into their old stuff, I just can't really stand his voice. And let's not talk about their new song because it was terrible. Oh well, I'll just carry on listening to The Black and kind of ignoring the rest of their catalogue. Can I even call myself a fan? Serious question. Este año ha sido interesante para mi en lo que a música se refiere. Me he mostrado mucho más a...

Taylor Swift "Blank Space" video (feat. Sean O'Pry)

I've talked about the close relationship between fashion and music before. The last time I did it, it was more obvious because of the collaboration Ralph Lauren did with Avicii. This time is not as obvious, but you'll see what I mean to show you really fast. Taylor Swift features in fashion magazines very often (Vogue, Elle, InStyle,...) and she's going to performe at the VSFS again. Also, this video has been shot in the same mansion where Victoria's Secret shoots some of their commercials. But of course, the biggest reason why I talk about this video is Sean O'Pry. Sean is a very popular male model, and has done campaigns for: Viktor & Rolf, Salvatore Ferragamo, Hermès, H&M, Jil Sander, Armani or Kenzo, just to name a few. He's not the first model who appears in a Taylor Swift video, since Noah Mills did it before (We're never ever getting back together). But I have to say I like Sean's performance better. I don't know if he's eve...
