Put on a Chic face

Super quick post, since it's almost bed time. Life has been crazy in the last couple of days, sorry. I wanted to find a nice look that could be used for the holidays, and I remembered how much I enjoyed these videos by Estée Lauder. They have more examples on their channel. But, there are many things in the fashion world that have disappointed me lately, that I need to look at the old shows/eds/ads...so they make me happy. Also, I read an article the other day about wearing dark lips during the summer. I don't know about you, but I've been doing it for a while. I don't really believe in winter colours vs summer colours. I just pick whatever colour inspired me that day. But I thought I could show you two looks with vampy lips, that may inspire you. Sometimes, I get nostalgic. I look at my old magazines (from 2007/2008) to see the campaigns and editorials released during those seasons. Everytime I do that, I discover something new. It's fascinating. When I discover a new model, I like to check everything that model did before I noticed her. This editorial came up many times during those "research moments". It features 38 models so...it's easy to see why. Anyway, this was Karlie's second cover for Vogue Italia. If I remember correctly, she's been on their cover 5 times. All of them shot by Meisel. And this one is probably my favourite. It didn't impress me when it came out, but I wasn't into Karlie's career back then. However, I love it now. The editorial is called "Runway", and it's full of pictures of fake runway shows and backstage shots. It's great, really. And the cover is hilarious! When I moved to London, I wasn't aware that Porter Magazine was a British magazine. It was a very pleasant surprise.  They only produce 4 issues every year (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), but each of them is incredible. Quality over quantity.  This summer issue proves my point. The cover and the cover story are stunning! (I love Jessica). And the rest of the editorials (I'll show you my two favourites) are high quality as well. Also, what I like the most is their articles. Those are always very interesting. In this issue there's an article about social media and the way it's affecting our lives. The title is "Are we dangerously in love with ourselves?", and it was written by Vassi Chamberlein. Very interesting read. You pay 5 pounds for each issue = 20 pounds/year. The VSFS aired two days ago in the States. Instead of looking for it on youtube yesterday, I waited to watch it properly on the tv. It was on last night here in the UK, and I recorded it to watch it right now. There was Champions League last night, and I have priorities. Now it's 9 am, I have a nice cup of tea on the table next to me and I'm about to watch the show. I'll comment as I watch, so I don't forget any details. And this cover and editorial proved that. You don't really need to do much to make her look pretty, and the people from Elle Spain noticed. Simple stylism, simple make-up, ...simple, yet gorgeous editorial. Love it! "La pócima mágica" // "The magic potion" ¡Oh Constance mia! ¿No os parece preciosa? La vi cuando estuvo en Londres por la fashion week y me volví a enamorar de ella. Es ridículamente perfecta. Y esta portada, con su editorial de acompañamiento, lo prueba una vez más. No hace falta esforzarse mucho para sacarla favorecida, y la gente de Elle España lo ha entendido. Estilismo simple, maquillaje simple, ...editorial simple, pero precioso. ¡Me encanta!
