amfAR Gala 2017: Best & Worst looks

Imagen
My gif (Video source: Associated Press) For someone who doesn't really care about the movies, the amfAR Gala is the last big event of the Cannes festival.  Many models attend and also celebrities who join every single party. And we get so many red carpet looks, that they can't all be good.  I just wanted to briefly tell you a few of my favourites and a few of my least favourites. It's a very personal opinion and you can disagree with it. Allá vamos: Best looks :  Willow Hand, wearing Oday Shakar...

Cannes Festival '17: Vanessa Axente, "The Killing of a Sacred Deer" premiere

Imagen
If you have been following my blog for a couple of years, you'll know that I used to be obsessed with Vanessa. She could do no wrong, but I guess she did. Her decisions, or her agency's, led her to disappear a bit from the fashion world, despite being the model of the moment. And, she still works for major brands but...it's not the same. Seeing her in Cannes was a huge surprise, and I think she looked amazing. Obviously, it was Jean Paul Gaultier who took her to the festival with him. And I'm also assuming that her outfit was made for the occasion. It was very different from what we usually see on this red carpet, and I appreciated that effort.

Cannes Festival '17: Liya Kebede, "120 Beats Per Minute" premiere

Second post about Cannes. And let me tell you one thing...I'm struggling. I don't seem to like anything celebs wear, so I don't really know who I should write about. Dramatic! Thankfully, I saw this look before going to bed last night and I knew I was going to feature it on this Cannes series. The model who wore this Paco Rabanne outfit is Liya Kebede, Lorealista and all-round beauty. This kind of outfit is the one that I want to wear to an event. There is something about this metallic fabrics that just makes me go crazy.

Cannes Festival '17: Elle Fanning, Ismael's Ghost premiere

Time for Cannes! As usual, I didn't even realized the festival had started until I saw all the pictures on social media. I'm not big on cinema. That's why I focus on the dresses the stars wear on the premieres, because I'm much better at judging that. Though, I am quite judgy when it comes to rating actors from tv shows. So, as you know, I love hearing myself talk...or, in this case, I love reading my own words. And that means I usually love writing long posts where I talk about life in general. And today, you'll be able to read my story about Elle Fanning. A year ago, I went to Westminster Abbey for the Gucci Cruise show, and Elle attended the event as well. Since I'm not a massive movie person, it took me a second to recognize her when she was standing right in front of me. And let me tell you, I was impressed in the best way possible. She was super nice to everyone, and I was able to see how tall and beautiful she is in person.  She'...

Cannes Festival 2016: Alessandra Ambrosio

Imagen
This last post about Cannes was going to be about the amFar Gala. However, none of the looks impressed me much, so I decided to talk about something else. This year's festival has been quite disappointing, fashion wise, and Alessandra isn't an exception. It pains me to say this, because I love her style. But her looks have been really bad this year. I know, I know...everyone was almost naked on the red carpet. Or at least it feels like that. And, I'm not a prude, but sometimes it gets too much. Yes, I'm looking at you Bella Hadid. Alessandra's outfits were not as revealing, but I still didn't like them. This one is better, but still not great. The see through part under the skirt, that we could see when see moved, destroyed a very nice dress. I do like the hair and make-up, though. And I understand that many jewelry brands invite models to this festival, but that necklace is not ok for that dress. I just hate it. So yeah, disappointing time at C...

Cannes Festival 2016: Barbara Palvin & Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

People say pink and red don't go well together. Well, we're mixing those two colours today ;) Barbara has been attending this festival for a while, since she's one of the main faces of L'oreal. And I always say she's never going to beat the look worn on her first appearance. However, this year's look gets 2nd place. I feel like they always tend to make her wear black, to make her look thinner (I know, I'm rolling my eyes too). Therefore, I welcome this softer look. I'm in love with Lorenzo Serafini's work for Philosophy, and this dress is just another example. I also adore the hair and make-up. She looks gorgeous. And what about Rosie? God, she's a total queen. She could make me want to wear the ugliest dress in the world, just because it'll look amazing on her. Red seems to be an unpopular colour when it comes to the red carpet, but she makes it work. This Alexandre Vauthier is (like 99% of his designs) sexy but classy. With tha...

Cannes Festival 2016: Kendall Jenner & Lily Donaldson

Imagen
My gif (Video source: Modadiva's yt channel) Two red carpet favourites of mine. But, did they manage to impress me this time? Keep reading ;) Kendall, as other models like Rosie and Miranda have done is the past, is promoting Magnum in Cannes. And it must be something related to Magnum, because those 3 models I mentioned have really good style, yet they looked awful during this press tour. The Emilia Wickstead jumpsuit isn't ugly, but it's really unflaterring. Kendall has a great body, and this outfit doesn't show that. The Versace dress shows quite a lot, actually. It's great as an evening dress, but it's not my cup of tea. There are many other Versace dresses she could have worn, that were better for her and the event. Lily, on the other side, killed it. She's one of these models who wear clothes beautifully. I know that's her job but, she's better than many at that. She may not be the best in editorials or on the runways, but sh...

Cannes Festival 2016: Bella Hadid & Caitriona Balfe

Imagen
A celebritie who believes she can model and a model who can definetely act. Those are my two picks for the day. Bella, the little sister, the dark Hadid...she bores me to death. All that "look at me, I'm special" is actually quite annoying. Fake lips, fake nose, ...and it looks like she doesn't know how to smile. I mean, I'm an expert when it comes to resting bitch facing but...versatily, love. It won't hurt! Or maybe it will, because of the surgery, you know. However, I do love what she's wearing for this Opening Gala. It isn't black, which is great. I love black clothes but she wears black all the time. Nice to see her using other colours. Stunning dress! What about Caitriona? Well, when I started to watch Outlander, I didn't know she used to be a model. But, it makes all the sense in the world. She's gorgeous and really knows how to make every piece of clothing look luxurious. And she really can act! "Café Society" premiere...
