Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017: Review #2

Imagen
Milan is over, Paris started yesterday and here I am eating a muffin. If I were a model, people would say that I starve myself because I lost weight in the last couple of weeks. So I eat muffins. Any tips? But, going back to Milan I want to focus my attention on two shows. Ferragamo is one of my favourites, but I was slightly concerned about the changes that were going to happen on the brand. Happily, the collection was as gorgeous as usual. However, the disappointment came from another direction. I've raved about Philosophy in the last couple of seasons, because those collections were an absolute dream. This one didn't impress me as much as I want it to impress me. Sad times. Ferragam...

Fall/Winter 16.17 campaigns: Jil Sander & Dior

That moment when you're going to publish a new post and realize you never wrote it. How did that happen? I'm not sure...Maybe I was supposed to write it yesterday. But I spent my day watching cricket, so I didn't really do much apart from that. Oh well, I just wanted to show you two campaigns with Julia Nobis, who I already told you is one of the queens of the season.  She got Dior again, and also Jil Sander. Both campaigns are really nice. Do you like them? Dior Fall/Winter 16.17: Julia Nobis by Stev...

Spring/Summer 2016 campaigns: Moschino, Jil Sander, Coach & Etro

When the season began, everyone thought Gigi was going to get most campaigns. Well...she only got two. Lexi, however, got 8 (so far) and it's closely followed by last season's campaign queen Grace Hartzel (#teamGrace) and Julia Nobis, both with 5. How did that happen? Well, having Meisel on your side helps. I mean, almost half of her campaigns this season were shot by Meisel. And 95% of her Vogue covers are VI covers shot by him. So yeah, he finds her fascinating while I don't like her at all. What about the campaigns she's in? Let's talk about them. And I also wanted to add that the other campaigns she got are Marc Jacobs, Diesel Black Gold, Givenchy and a Prada perfume contract.

Elie Saab "Le Parfum": Toni Garrn by Mario Sorrenti

Behind the scenes Last time I wrote about a perfume, it was about Miu Miu's first fragance. I did it mainly because of the great marketing behind the product. Today, I have different reasons. Toni herself is the main reason. She's one of my favourites, therefore it's easy for me to stay updated on what she's doing.  I want to use this post to explain something to you now. If you follow models, photographers or brands on social media, you may get information about what they're shooting. When it comes to a campaign or an editorial, we usually have to wait 2/3 months to see the final pictures. However, when it comes to perfumes or some make-up/hair adverts, we may have to wait 7/8 months. The production behind them is huge, and it takes longer. So, if you see your favourite model shooting for CK, for example, but nothing is released 4 months later, there are two options:   1. The ad was cancelled and reshot with a different model.   2. It's not the...

Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016: Review #4

-Bottega Veneta: Inguna ^^ How nice to see her back on the runway. I'm usually a big fan of prints, but the ones used in this collection didn't really impress me. However, the rest of the collection is really pretty. If I remember correctly, I didn't like last season's collection. This one is definetely way better. - Roberto Cavalli: The disappointment of the season. I really thought I was going to love this collection, so when the show was over I was like: that's it?  I think we all expected something similar to what Peter did for Pucci. Clothes for powerful women, fitting that sexy Italian vibe both Pucci a...

Fall/Winter 15.16 campaigns: Alberta Ferretti, Jil Sander, Salvatore Ferragamo & Blumarine

My gif (Video source: Ferragamo's youtube channel) When you look at these ads, you can totally tell how much italians love fashion. And I love what they design. Alberta Ferreti Fall/Winter 15.16: Sasha Pivovarova by Peter Lindbergh Sasha's previous campaign for Ferretti (Spring/Summer 2011) didn't impress me much. This one, however, is really beautiful. It's very intense and barroque (which is a trend). Peter's campaigns for the brand are really beautiful. This one is kind of similar to the ones he shot with Mariacarla. He knows how to capture that italian feeling...if that makes any sense.
