Let's do things the American way while I talk about 3 very American brands. Or go get a cup of tea, whatever suits you. I also wanted to let you know tomorrow is the last day to participate on my giveaway. ¡¡Corred!!  http://putonachicface.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/giveaway-sorteo.html Michael Kors Fall/Winter 16.17: Freja Beha Erichsen by Mario Testino Michael used to be loyal to his models. Now...he doesn't seem to be anymore, which is quite sad. We've had 4 different models on his last 4 campaigns. This time, it was Freja's turn to get the ad. And, well, it really is the same concept again.  Michael solía ser muy leal a sus modelos. Ahora...no parece serlo, y es ba...

My gif (Video source: Prada's yt channel) Prada and Miu Miu, two brands that go together. However, they couldn't be more different this season. It all started during the shows. Prada used many new faces, as usual, but also many brand favourites. Grand and Bitton took over Miu Miu and...well, most models who were part of that show were models that Ashley never casts. It was uncomfortable to see. But, what happened with the campaigns? Prada Fall/Winter 16.17: Amanda Googe, Amanda Murphy, Angelica Erthal, Caitie Greene, Danielle ...

#tbt: Vogue Italia January '10: Karlie Kloss (+ more) by Steven Meisel

Sometimes, I get nostalgic. I look at my old magazines (from 2007/2008) to see the campaigns and editorials released during those seasons. Everytime I do that, I discover something new. It's fascinating. When I discover a new model, I like to check everything that model did before I noticed her. This editorial came up many times during those "research moments". It features 38 models so...it's easy to see why. Anyway, this was Karlie's second cover for Vogue Italia. If I remember correctly, she's been on their cover 5 times. All of them shot by Meisel. And this one is probably my favourite. It didn't impress me when it came out, but I wasn't into Karlie's career back then. However, I love it now. The editorial is called "Runway", and it's full of pictures of fake runway shows and backstage shots. It's great, really. And the cover is hilarious! Back then, Karlie's walk was quite controversial, and I can't help b...

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 16.17: Review #6

-Oscar de la Renta: While everyone raved about Peter's collections for the brand, I judged them all. And I feel like that worked, because now what I hear about this show sounds more like what I think. Not trying to say that I'm the only one who can be right, though. When you start designing for a brand, you have two options: a) Continue doing what the original designer did; b) Change the style of the brand completely, à la Slimane. Peter did a bit of both. He continued doing dresses for princesses, like she was doing at Nina Ricci, but tried to adapt those dresses to what de la Renta used to do. It wasn't a smooth transition, but it wasn't the worst I have seen. What bothered me was that people raved about it and said that it was like de la Renta never left. Well, excuse me?  Oscar didn't use to cast too young looking models, because he designed clothes for women, strong women. So doing dresses for princesses that seem to be made of cotton candy is not ...
