Vogue China May 2016: Julie Hoomans by Ben Toms

Julie. Oh Julie! The first time I really noticed her was when I saw her campaign for the "Lemaire x Uniqlo" collaboration. And I had to do what I always do when someone gets my attention: go to TFS to check her old threads. After that, I've been following her career more, and it really fascinates me. Some models start their career with a bang. They produce quality work since day 1, and it kind of looks like they've been modelling their whole life. They simply were born to be models. Julie, however, had to learn how to be a model. When you compare her first shoots and her first runway appearances with her current work, the difference is huge. She gets better everyday because, you know...practice makes perfect.  Lately, she's been getting more print work and she's killing it. I particularly like this editorial she has done for Vogue China, but it's just an example of what she's capable of. Star in the making...mark my words. ...

Vogue China February 2016: Maartje Verhoef by Ezra Petronio

When I did a video talking about my January favourites, I mentioned Maartje as one of my favourite models ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcM9zO0xvC8  ). It's kind of funny, because I didn't use to care about her at all. But that happens to me sometimes. Most of the times I need to see a model on the runway season after season, until the day when that model does something that wows me and I start to pay attention to her. I don't usually fall in love with a model the first time I see her. That only happened once. So, I don't really know when it was that I started to like Maartje, but now she's one of my favourites. I'm really happy to see how successful she is at the moment. Her editorial work has improved massively as well, I really enjoy getting so many pictures of her right now. That's why I wanted to show you this Vogue China editorial as an example. I would also love to know if you like Maartje as well ;) "Monochrome" ...

Vogue China January 2016: Adrienne Jüliger by Ben Toms

I have a love/hate relationship with this editorial. Adrienne posted a picture on her instagram and I fell in love with it. When that happens, your next step is looking for the full editorial. I checked everywhere, but I couldn't find it. That made me change my blog schedule, which is very annoying. I ended up posting something else, and it was 5 minutes after doing so that I saw this full spread. Not amused. But these pictures are too pretty, I can't stay mad. What do I like about this story? Well, what's not to like? First of all, Adrienne is on the pictures. She really is one of my favourites. The second reason is that I'm a sucker for geometric shapes. I find them incredibly visual, and these photos prove that point. Also, the props used on the background create a beautiful contrast with the shape of the clothes and their prints. Lovely. My last reason is that I love the black and white close-up. It doesn't really look like it's part of this s...

Vogue covers (July 2014)

Vogue Australia July 2014: Miranda Kerr by Nicole Bentley I don't really know how I feel about this cover. I like the pose, the styling,...but they made Miranda look really old. There's something wrong with the make-up and hair. No se muy bien cual es mi opinión respecto a esta portada. Me gusta la pose, el estilismo,...pero han hecho que Miranda parezca bastante más vieja de lo que es. Es cosa del maquillaje y el color del pelo. Vogue Netherlands July/August 2014: Malgosia Bela by Annemarieke van Drimmelen What a beautiful cover! I love everything about it. The styling is perfect for summer. Her pose is simple but nice. The hair looks amazing and she looks like the supermodels she is. ¡Qué portada tan bonita! No le saco peros. El estilismo es perfecto para el verano. La pose es simple pero bonita. Su pelo sale genial en esta foto, y ella parece una supermodelo, que es lo que es. Vogue China July 2014: Kati Nescher by Mikael ...

Vogue covers (April 2014)

Vogue Netherlands April 2014 : Sylvie Meis by Paul Bellaart This is a beautiful close-up. I like it. Love the colours too. Es un bonito primer plano. Me gusta. Los colores también son bonitos. Vogue Japan April 2014 : Edie Campbell by Patrick Demarchelier The only reason why I don't dislike this, it is because they tried to make her look like the Edie she used to be. She's not trying to be grunge Edie, and I like that. La única razón por la que no me desagrada es porque han intentado que se parezca a la Edie de antes. No está intentando ser Edie la grunge, y eso me gusta. UK Vogue April 2014 : Nigella Lawson by Nathaniel Goldberg It's not bad. I don't even know who she is, so I can't judge her. No está mal. Ni se quien es ella, así que no la puedo juzgar. Vogue China April 2014 : Edita Vilkeviciute by Daniel Jackson I know it's looks very Vogue Japan, but Edita i...
