Campaign season queens S/S 18, Part 1: Cara Taylor (USA)

Imagen
Back with the campaigns, in time to tell you about the queens of the season before the new ads for next season come out. First, I wanted to briefly mention last year's queens. Faretta is already flopping, and she went from scoring 8 campaigns to getting only 2: Ralph Lauren and Salvatore Ferragamo.  Kiki, however, is still on top form. She "only" got 4 campaigns this season (DVF, Calvin Klein, Christopher Kane, Marni), but those consolidate her. Besides, after her flawless fashion month, she showed she's not going anywhere. I also have some honorable mentions for other models who did great this season: Gigi Hadid (8), Rianne van Rompaey (6) and Bella, Kaia and Ansley (5). Now it's time to announce the runner-up of the season: Cara Taylor, who scored 8 major campaigns. On my next post, I'll show you who dominated the season. Holiday outfit ideas #blogmasday16

Last year, I completely forgot about this post I used to write every year. It's a fun one for me, and hopefully a helpful one for you. During the holidays, there are many traditions that people stick to. Some families like to wear matching pyjamas or just matching clothes. Others like to wear costumes related to the festivities. But many just like to dress up a bit.  And then there is New Year's Eve, which is a it like Halloween in a way. It's often seen as the day when we can go crazy fashion wise. The day when no one gets funny looks for dressing like a disco ball. As with everything, people's styles and personalities have to be taken into account. That means there isn't one perfect holiday outfit. So I'll show you some that have caught my eye...while I play which PJ's I'll be wearing on Xmas day ;) I'll be doing a post about festive make-up soon, so stay tuned!  Zara Topshop Mango Michael Kors ...

#tbt: Taylor Hill for Topshop #blogmasday7

Back when this campaign came out, I featured it on my blog. And that was before I became Taylor's number 1 fan. Since that day, I've watched the videos that were also part of the campaign a couple of times. And it was those videos that made me fall in love with the ad. Nowadays, we are used to getting different kinds of visual material with each campaign, and they do make a huge difference.

Topshop Summer '17: Luna Bijl by Giampaolo Sgura

I was thinking about writing this post a week ago, while I was sunbathing and getting the loveliest tan of my life. Honestly, it's very subtle (and healthy, because I apply SPF every 10 minutes) but so gorgeous. I can't stop staring at my arms and face. But this weekend hasn't been as good weather wise, which I guess it's alright since it's only April. However, brands want us to buy summer clothes already. and Topshop is doing a great job with this campaign. It definetely makes me want to go to a tropical island...or to just go to the park where I'll read while sipping my Iced Caramel Macchiato. Both options work.  The campaign's star is Luna Bijl, who has had a terrific couple of months. Scoring two covers for Vogue Paris will do that to your career. But, I actually got bored of her quite quickly. She's undeniably beautiful but...that's it, she doesn't bring anything exciting for me. That's probably why I was so surprise whe...

Campaign season queens (S/S 17): Kiki Willems

Kiki in 2014 Welcome to part two of queens of the SS 17 campaign season. Today, we're talking about my current fave, Kiki Willems. Kiki's career was a bit different than Vittoria Ceretti's, who I talked about a couple of days ago. Early in her career she got a massive exclusive for SLP, and she also got to open the show and to do the campaign. After that, she could already count with lots of powerful people on her team: Ashley Brokaw, Steven Meisel, Willy V., ... This means she has gotten many opportunities to prove her talent...and believe me, she really is talented.  I mainly love her print work, but she also has tons of personality on the runway. For this season, she scored 10 campaigns, which makes her the model with more campaigns. Total queen ;) Zara, by Steven Meisel Calvin Klein by Appointment, by Willy Vanderperre Calvin Klein Collection, by Willy Vanderperre Calvin Klein Jeans, by Willy Vanderperre Prada, by Wil...
