Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 17.18: Review #1

Paris! What a beautiful city full of beautiful shows. I'm in such a good fashion mood lately. And Dries Van Noten helped with that by having the best cast a show could have. The designer has been calling models who have been his muses for the last couple of months. This show was his 100th show and he wanted it to be a show where models who know how to wear his clothes walked. It wasn't just that he casted iconic models, it was that he casted models who fit the brand. Sometimes, we just have shows with it girls who are amazing, but...they may not fit the show as much as other would. For me, this show will forever be an iconic moment and I'm glad I got to watch it as it happened.

Surprise! I haven't had much time to check the shows today. What's new? I'm going to give you an explanation for all of this once the shows are over. But believe me, it annoys me more than it can annoy you. To sum it up, I'll tell you that I liked Loewe. Probably Jonathan's best collection since he started to work for the brand. The cat theme was quite funny too. Dior was cool too. Not every piece has convinced me, but the accessories are to die for. And Isabel Marant was more of the same, but I quite liked that rock and roll theme. Good day in Paris! ¡Sorpresa!

Spring/Summer 2016 campaigns: Loewe & Isabel Marant

On my last post, I talked about a "not comeback". Well, I guess it's time to talk about a real comeback: Raquel's. I already talked about her Versace campaign, and now it's time to talk about the other two major campaigns she scored. Isabel Marant Spring/Summer 2016: Raquel Zimmermann by Inez&Vinoodh Well, you know I'm not Marant's fan. I kind of liked the S/S 15 ad with Natasha, but I feel like the next two have been too similar to that one. You can change the model, but that's not enough. The last three campaigns look more like Vogue Paris' editorials.  And that's what I don't like about this brand. They always go for the safest option. They never take risks, and...

Hello!! I feel like I'm just making excuses every single day, but I didn't have time to watch the shows today. Mainly because I had too much free time, and I went out to enjoy this sunny day. Also, because I started writing book number 2. I still haven't finished book number 1, but when there is a brainstorm, you can't ignore it. So, let's just say a couple of things about each show, and then I'll let you see how much you like them. Loewe was similar to previous seasons. Jonathan is trying to incorporate his touch, and this new Loewe already feels legit. So he's doing a good job.  Dior was really beautiful. I adore this kind of collection, because Raf is a genius. So soft and dreamy, but very strong too. Marant was very wearable as usual. I don't like her style, but I get why it's popular. And Balenciaga was awful. Thank God Wang is no longer the designer...I didn't like any of his collections for the brand. ¡¡Hola!! Sien...

Fall/Winter 15.16 campaigns: Michael Kors, Isabel Marant, Frame Denim & La Perla

Natasha Poly has been on fire since she started working as a model 10 years ago. She slowed down some seasons (as every top does), she took a break when she was pregnant, ...but she's being consistently working for over a decade. Last season, she dominated the campaign season, and she's doing the same during this fall/winter season. Getting Michael Kors' campaign is a quite a big deal, since he's usually loyal to his muses. However, the ad itself is pretty bad. She kind of looks drugged.  Her Isabel Marant campaign is better, but a bit too similar to last season's. I guess it worked really well. She also got Frame's ad, which may not look too important, since it's a smaller brand. However, they always use big names for their ads, so they definetely pay well ;) Her last campaign of the season (so far, and not including a perfume contract for Hugo Boss) is La Perla. She shares the spotlight this time, but completely outshines her fellow mode...

-Loewe: As he did in his own show, he used the 80's as an inspiration. For me, it's a yes for the trousers and a big no for the skirts. But that's just my personal opinion. I'm not too sure about the fitting either. The silhouettes are interesting, of course. But they're not flattering at all. - Dior: This collection is a continuation of his HC collection. This isn't HC though, it's RTW. That's why it's more wearable and not as daring. I liked the HC show and I like this one as well. I adore the hair. I loved to see Ivana walking for the brand. She's going to be big. Esta col...
