Put on a Chic face

Another Couture season has ended, and it felt very similar to me to the last few. By that I mean that I was kind of disappointed by most shows, but Valentino arrived and saved the day.  It is not just about creating good collections, it is about understanding HC as a concept. And I think Pierpaolo is really good at that. Another positive surprise was Givenchy. It was Clare's debut on the Couture world, and I have to say that I liked it way more than expected.  In the model department, someone who keeps on capturing my attention is Fran Summers, who walked most shows and opened Valentino. Vittoria and Kiki had yet another great season as well.  Otra temporada de costura ha terminado, y siento que ha sido similar a las últimas. Two of my favourite brands have produced two of my favourite campaigns of the season. Rianne, who may end up being this season's campaign queen, is in both of them and is the highlight of both ads.  Gigi, who not many people will see as a Valentino girl, is the other highlight. Dos de mis marcas favoritas han producido dos de mis campañas favoritas de la temporada. Rianne, que puede que termine como reina de la temporada de campañas, está en ambas y es la que más destaca. Gigi, a la cual muchos no verán como chica Valentino, es la otra sorpresa positiva. Now that 95% of the ads are out, let's talk about the two models who killed it during this campaign season. I wanted to also include some honorable mentions for Bella (8 campaigns), Gigi Hadid and Taylor Hill (6 campaigns each) and Freja Beha, Grace Elizabeth & Birgit Kos. They all had outstanding seasons, but they didn't reach neither Faretta's nor the other model's (not telling you yet) level. If you had asked me who I thought will get most campaigns when the shows ended in March, I would have said Faretta. She already scored big campaigns for the SS 17 season, and her runway season was flawless despite skipping NYFW. However, despite getting 8 huge campaigns and working with different photographers, she didn't wowed me once. Her best campaign is probably Zara, the rest...still weak. She has to improve a lot. Once you've been part of the fashion week drama, you kind of lose your love for fashion shows. However, everytime HC ends I'm like: Is it over already? I never said I was normal. But it is over, and yesterday was a great day with plenty of amazing shows. Favourite? I don't think I can pick just one, but bits from each show I saw. We also had Chanel two days ago, which disappointed me a little. But I loved Camille as the bride. Ulyana Sergeenko had the best cast and the best make-up of the season. Today we are talking about a perfume. Or maybe I should say we're talking about the campaign. I tried to get info about the perfume in general (scent, reason why they created a new version, ...) but I got no answers back, which is disappointing. So I can just talk about what I see, and that is my lovely Maartje scoring a perfume campaign. Maartje and Valentino are a match made in heaven. She's done multiple campaigns for them and this one really seals the deal. Perfume campaigns are a model's dream, and giving her such exposure shows how much the brand likes her.  I can't wait to smell this new perfume!
