Jennifer Lawrence for US Vogue September 2017

Ph. Annie Leibovitz When I first found out about Jennifer being the cover star for this September issue, I wasn't very excited about the whole thing. And when I saw the Annie cover, I was like: Bye! Not interested! Then I saw the other three and, I must admit I kind of love I&V's. Her expression is not the best, but she's an actress, not a model. My biggest complaint is the cover girl choice. If they knew they were going to produce 4 covers, why not picking 4 different women? (Or, God forbid, men?) It is an anniversary issue...go big or go home. Still better than expected... Ph. Bruce Weber Portrait by Rob McKeever Ph.

Maria Sharapova for Vanity Fair Spain & US Vogue

Today I woke up excited about opening the front door and getting the newspaper. I always like reading the news, but this time there was something else in there: The Times Magazine supplement. Note: I'm writing this on Saturday. I normally enjoy the weekend supplements a lot, mainly the fashion one. But this time my whole focus was on this one because Maria Sharapova was on the cover. And that is one of the many covers and interviews I've seen from her lately. Her comeback is approaching, and you know, you have to make sure everyone knows. Anyone who knows me just a little knows Maria is my idol. I've been following her career for 11 years, with all its ups and downs. I do believe I am the way I am right now for many differents reasons, one of them being her. She was a great influence for me in my teenage years and taught me that not only could I dream big, I had to do it.  I don't believe in celebrities having to control their every move just so they ...

Blast from the past: Vogue USA December 2003, "Alice in Wonderland" by Annie Leibovitz

A couple of weeks ago, I talked about an editorial featured on Vogue USA in 1992. I found out about it thanks to a documentarie about Vogue. But I also saw this other editorial that it's worth talking about. Natalia always had that beautiful face that made her look like a doll. Her innocent look was perfect for this story, where she played Alice in Wonderland. I feel like it was pretty original, and it's cool to see lots of designers being part of this story too.

FW 14.15 campaigns: Louis Vuitton

I reviewed over 50 campaigns this season, which I think it is not bad at all. And this one had to be the last one I talk about. There's a new designer working for the brand, and he didn't want us to think his campaign was going to be simple. Actually, we got 3 ads in 1. Quite epic! I don't know if they're planning on doing this again (they definetely have the money to do it, so we'll see), but it has been a pretty cool way to catch everyone's attention. The campaign is divided in 3 parts, each one photographed by a different photographer: Bruce Webber, Annie Lebovitz and Juergen Teller.  My favourite out of those 3 is Webber, closely followed by Teller. They are both really good. I don't particularly enjoy Annie's work. However, I loved her Prada menswear campaign (  http://putonachicface.blogspot.com.es/2014/06/fw-1415-campaigns-prada-prada-menswear.html  ), and I like what she's done for Louis Vuitton. The same order applies to the...

FW 14.15 campaigns: Prada & Prada Menswear

Prada FW 14.15: Mica Arganaraz & Karl Kolbitz by Steven Meisel What a disappointing campaign! It's not like I loved the collection and I was waiting for a super campaign...but this is just too bad. So, we finally have an OG campaign for Prada. And they decide to give that campaign to this Mica girl who doesn't seem to know how to pose. Yeah, it doesn't sound too good. I don't know if they told her to tilt her head like that in EVERY shot, but it looks so bad. It's like a catalogue. No wait, a catalogue model has more poses than Mica does in this campaign.  And, to be honest, the ads' concept is quite good, but the execution is terrible. Si, no suena ...
