Emporio Armani perfumes: "Because it's you" & "Stronger with you"

Imagen
Around this time of the year, we get to see more perfume adverts everywhere. But this one caught my eye while walking around London, because it was heavily featured on the big screens at Picadilly Circus. The whole production for the campaign is huge. James Jagger plays Paul and Matilda Lutz plays Laura on a film directed by Fabien Constant. And the main idea behind it is that love makes you stronger, and that those two individuals will be the better version of themselves when they are together. While it is a lovely message, many may say that it promotes a very specific kind of relationship and leaves all the others as a second option.  My reaction when I saw the names of the perfumes on the big screens was that I liked how the Stronger with you name was used for the male one.  At the end of the day, this is just a perfume campaign and thinking too much about what can mean is a bit pointless. But that's me, I overthink everything. What about the smell? Interes...

"My Burberry Blush", Lily James by Mario Testino

Imagen
I rarely talk about fragances that are part of a collection I've already talked about but...I can't say no when you're this cute, Burberry! If there is a brand that knows how to market things, that is Burberry. Something as simple as a perfume sample comes in a gorgeous packaging that makes you fall in love with it. And that is why I'm taking about this perfume today. I'm a massive fan of the original "My Burberry" scent, and it is actually my cricket scent, which says a lot about how much I love it. And I also loved the "My Burberry Black", although not as much as the original. This new "blush" version is very different from the previous two, which I like since the first two scents were lovely but a bit too similar. They literally describe it as a "fruity floral with a sparkling twist". And that got me interested, because I do love floral scents and I don't dislike fruity ones.  The notes are: glazed pome...

Michael Kors "Sexy Ruby" Fragance: Edita Vilkeviciute by Mario Testino

Imagen
Last week I talked about how it was 10 years ago that I got into fashion. And today I talk about Edita, one of the first models that caught my eye. She has had a very long career and despite slowing down a little, she is still on top of her game. Mainly when we talk about perfume and beauty contracts. I've lost count of how many perfume contracts she has got during those 12 years of career...15? Here I show you her latest, for Michael Kors' newest fragance.  Not surprised about her success, though. She sells everything so well.

Valentino "Donna Acqua" Fragance: Maartje Verhoef

Imagen
Today we are talking about a perfume. Or maybe I should say we're talking about the campaign. I tried to get info about the perfume in general (scent, reason why they created a new version, ...) but I got no answers back, which is disappointing. So I can just talk about what I see, and that is my lovely Maartje scoring a perfume campaign. Maartje and Valentino are a match made in heaven. She's done multiple campaigns for them and this one really seals the deal. Perfume campaigns are a model's dream, and giving her such exposure shows how much the brand likes her.  I can't wait to smell this new perfume! Y veo a ...

"Belles de Nina", Frida Gustavsson & Jac Jagaciak

Imagen
Picture me leaving a cricket match on Friday. I walk past a bus stop and I see this ad on it. I just loved it because Frida and Jac are two of my favourites, and they have been for a while. So...when I saw that this ad was on pretty much every bus stop in London, the fangirl inside of me died of happiness.  For this campaign, the hashtag #strongertogether was used when it came out. It talks about friendship and that's why they couldn't pick two better models for it. Frida and Jac have been best friends for years, and they even have a ship name: Frigaciak. Shooting this campaign probably didn't feel like work to them, and that shows on how genuine their expressions are. I am obsessed with perfumes, but I don't personally like Nina Ricci's perfumes. It's really odd, and I still haven't smelled Luna. I need to do it, for Jac 😏 Imaginadme saliendo del cricket el viernes, pasando por una parada de bus y viendo esta campaña ahí. Me...

#tbt: Rock'n Rose by Valentino (Mona Johanneson by Craig McDean)

Imagen
A couple of weeks ago, I saw that Elle Sweden produced a gorgeous cover with some of their most iconic models, and Mona was one of them. Everytime I see her, I think about this ad for Valentino. This perfume is my all time favourite, and the reason why I tried it in the first place was this tv commercial. It came out when I was starting to be into fashion. Good times! I already mentioned this on a post I did years ago about my perfumes and their campaigns, which still is the most viewed post I've ever published. Should I do an updated version of it?  http://putonachicface.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/my-perfumes-and-their-campaigns.html  Can we talk about how much better my English is nowadays? xD It's Valentino, it has roses and the word rock on it. It's as if they created it for me ;) Ph: Craig McDean Hace unas semanas vi que Elle Suecia había producido una preciosa portada con algunas de sus modelos más icónicas y Mona era una de ellas. Siempre que l...

Chanel Nº5 L'eau: Lily-Rose Depp

Imagen
My gif (Video source: Chanel's yt channel) No matter what you do, where you live, what you like, ...pretty much everyone knows about Chanel Nº5. This perfume redefined the word iconic in the beauty world. However, it's always been a perfume for "older" women. Many young girls got it, or someone got it for them, and never really used it. That's why Chanel decided to create a younger version of their best selling perfume. I love how they use the sentence "You know me and you don't" to promote it. It's catchy and completely explains the situation.  The bottle is similar to the other Chanel perfumes, but the scent is very different. This one is citrusy and fresh. More similar to the Chance line than it's to the Nº5 or Nº19 perfumes. Since it's a younger scent, they needed someone young to represent this perfume. And they picked a current it-girl, Lily-Rose Depp. Have you tried this perfume yet? I think it'd be a great...

VIDEO: What I got for Christmas, 2015

Imagen
Little video showing you my Christmas presents =) I tried my best to edit the video properly, but I don't know if I really managed to do that. And there's a small clip that repeats itself 3 times during the video, but not during the preview I have on my editing program. Strange. The auto focus got a little crazy at some points. Sorry about that. Also, keep in mind that English is not my first language ;) ¡Hola! ...

Miu Miu Perfume: Stacy Martin by Steven Meisel

Imagen
Ph: Steven Meisel So, the holidays are around the corner and that means we are going to be doing lots of shopping. I only need to buy two more tiny details and it'll all be over for me. I know, it's not even December but this is me and my obsession with being organized. I hate shopping during December, so I'm glad I won't have to do that. I'll be going home to Spain during the holidays and I want to have some posts ready for those days, so I don't have to do much during my free time. If you have any ideas, let me know. It doesn't really have to be fashion related, since it's the time of the year when we kind of chill a little bit and try not to thing about work. So other suggestions are welcome as well. Let me know. Once I said all of that, I'll start talking about today's topic. I feel like writing about potential presents that you can buy for people, to kind of help you with that. That's why I'm talking about this perfume...

Issey Miyake "Pleats Please" perfume campaign: Monika "Jac" Jagaciak by Nick Knight.

Imagen
Today I wanted to talk about this campaign because I smelled this perfume and I liked it. I did it really fast since I was in a hurry, so I didn't have time to make sure I loved it, but I liked what I smelled. And when I did it I remember Monika was the star of the campaign, so I want to show you the ad and the video. Monika is one of my favourite models and I think she really fits this ad. Young, fresh, playful...is something that screams her name. And the video is more of the same. It's fun and it catches your eye. I would like to know your opinion if you own or have tried this perfume.

Imagen
This is not a new ad, but I wanted to talk about it now that Christmas is almost here and we are going to watch tons and tons of perfume ads on the tv. I find this ad brilliant, because it has a good "model" (she's actually an actress) and the shape of the bottle is really atractive. I also love the tv commercial since is fun and effective. Sometimes, huge brands (like Prada) make big mistakes when they do commercials and forget they are major brands and they should keep it classy even when they try to do something more commercial. Actually, and this is sad, the only thing I don't like about it is the way the perfume smells. I'm a big perfume fan, I have a lot and I'm very picky when I'm deciding which perfume I'm going to get. Mostly because I just buy expensive perfumes and I'm not going to spend 70 euros on something I don't love. Well, if I'm honest, I don't buy them, I get them for Christmas or my birthday, but still, I don...
