Julia Bergshoeff for Narciso Rodríguez Resort 2018

A bit of catching up before I talk about the lookbook? Yeah? Let's do it. What a couple of weeks! I'm honestly so tired, it stopped being funny days ago. I've been going to matches (as usual), to weddings, to tv shows, ...crazy times. I was at the taping of the Late Late Show the other day and it was exhausting. Awesome, but exhausting. I can't complain because I was extremely lucky and got to sit on the third row, which means I was super close to where the guests and James were sitting. And also, I got a little unexpected souvenir when Caleb, Kings of Leon's singer, threw his pick to the audience and I got it.  Then I did a lot of running around various tube stations, which was a great workout. Now my entire body hurts but, oh well... And tomorrow, I'm super lucky as well because I'm going to Birmingham for the England-Australia match. CANNOT WAIT! So all of that means that I didn't have time to prepare the blog post that was supposed to ...

The Edit by Net-A-Porter February: Cameron Russell by Victor Demarchelier

Imagen
The fashion industry is full of inspiring people, and that includes models.  You know he saying "don't bite the hand that feeds you" and so does Cameron. But she also knows that doesn't mean you just have to be quiet and do nothing, even if you think something is not fair. That's what she started with her TED talk (that I will link at the end of this post) and what she has kept on doing since then.  The latest example is this interview for The Edit. Many criticize her for doing this and many applaud her. I'm happy someone is speaking up and hopefully more models and other professionals (like James Scully) will do the same in the future. The model's march La industria de la moda esta llena de gente que nos inspira, y eso incluye a las modelos. Ya conocéis el dicho "no muerdas la mano que te da de comer", y Cameron también lo conoce. Pero también sabe que eso no quiere decir que tengas que...

Maartje Verhoef for Numéro Fr. Feb' 17, by Victor Demarchelier

When was the last time I talked about Maartje? 2 days ago? Joking, but I really talk a lot about her. It's not my fault that she is an amazing model who has improved massively in fron of the camera. No, that's all on her, I'm afraid ;) One of my favourite editorials she's ever done was for Numéro France as well. They know how to bring the best out of her. Seeing these pictures and knowing what the four covers (with Catherine McNeil) look like, I feel like Maartje should have been on the cover instead. Lovely images on a lovely editorial. Great job by both Maartje, Victor and Numéro. "Volupté" Ph: Victor Demarchelier ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que hablé de Maartje? ¿Hace dos días? Es broma, pero la verdad es que hablo mucho de ella. Pero no es mi culpa que sea una modelo muy buena que ha mejorado muchísimo delante de la cámara. No, eso es todo cosa suya ;) Uno de mis editoriales favoritos suyos es uno que ...

Numéro #174 June/July 2016: Julie Hoomans by Victor Demarchelier

Imagen
This is the kind of post that I write because I need to. I was going to wait to show you this ed, but after seeing Julie last Thursday, I need to do it now. She's one of those models who looks even prettier in person. And, like I said a couple of weeks ago (when I showed you her Vogue China ed), she keeps improving as a model. This is a pretty cool issue, actually. It's called "The Art Issue" and it has 3 beautiful covers. But I personally like Julie's cover better than Lorena's and Daria's. Her ed is also so much cooler. I love the colours and the way they played with the lights. And Julie is giving us some strong poses to complete the whole thing. Lovely job from a lovely young lady. Esta es la clásica entrada que escribo porque lo necesito. Iba a esperar para enseñaros este edito, pero después de ver a Julie el jueves, necesito hacerlo ya. Es una de esas modelos que es aún más guapa en persona. Y, c...
