Put on a Chic face

If you have been following my blog for a couple of years, you'll know that I used to be obsessed with Vanessa. She could do no wrong, but I guess she did. Her decisions, or her agency's, led her to disappear a bit from the fashion world, despite being the model of the moment. And, she still works for major brands but...it's not the same. Seeing her in Cannes was a huge surprise, and I think she looked amazing. Obviously, it was Jean Paul Gaultier who took her to the festival with him. And I'm also assuming that her outfit was made for the occasion. It was very different from what we usually see on this red carpet, and I appreciated that effort. We still have to wait a couple of weeks for the next big fashion month, but before that we always get some shows to fill that gap between seasons.   -Elie Saab: Well, this is the same show we've seen a hundred times. But I guess it works for him. I feel like it's a bit too shiny for my taste, and the lights didn't help. But I love the hair accessories. I'll talk more about them when I talk about the beauty looks on Saturday. What I noticed is that Elie Saab was one of the first designers who introduced pockets on his gowns, and now lots of designers do that. I quite like that. Bueno, pues este es el mismo desfile que hemos visto cientos de veces. Pero supongo que le funciona. Siento que es demasiado brillante para mi gusto, y las luces no ayudaron. Pero me encantan los accesorios del pelo. Hablaré más de ellos cuando hable de los looks de belleza el sábado. De lo que si me he dado cuenta es que Elie Saab fue uno de los primeros diseñadores que introdujo bolsillos en sus vestidos de noche, y ahora muchos diseñadores hacen lo mismo. A couple of weeks ago, I talked about an editorial featured on Vogue USA in 1992. I found out about it thanks to a documentarie about Vogue. But I also saw this other editorial that it's worth talking about. Natalia always had that beautiful face that made her look like a doll. Her innocent look was perfect for this story, where she played Alice in Wonderland. I feel like it was pretty original, and it's cool to see lots of designers being part of this story too. Hace unas semanas, hablé de un edito que salió en Vogue USA en 1992. Lo encontré gracias a un documental sobre Vogue. Pero también vi este otro que merece mucho la pena. Natalia siempre ha tenido esa cara preciosa que la hace parecer una muñeca. Su look inocente es perfecto para esta historia, en la que hace de Alicia en el país de las maravillas. Me parece bastante original, y está genial ver a todos estos diseñadores formar parte de la historia.

I'm going to write this post while I watch football. Anything can happen. Should I tell you if someone scores a goal? ;) Probably not. I hope the match makes me as happy as today's shows did. Weren't all super pretty? I loved them. Tomorrow I won't talk about the few brands that are presenting their collections. However, I'll write a post about something you always seem to like.
