Chanel pre-fall 2017: Vittoria Ceretti & Natalie Westling by Karl Lagerfeld

Back to the excuses...I had a post for Wednesday, but it ended up being a ridiculously busy day, and by the time I got to my room, I just didn't feel like writing. Anyways, ...before I go back to the cricket, let's talk about this campaign. A bit awkward, right? Vitto and Natalie used to be a couple, but they seem to have broken up. That makes me wonder whether this was shot before or after the break up. I hope before...though, when you're a model, you know you are likely to work with your exes. The campaign itself is quite simple and fitting for pre-fall. What I don't like is the lack of originality. Vitto and Natalie did this gorgeous lookbook for Loewe once and it was a dream. Then, they had a picture that Meisel shot for VI and on this campaign that pose has been repeated. That puts me off slightly. It's an ok campaign, but it has a couple of things that annoy me slightly. What do you think? Volvemos a las excus...

Vogue Italia July 2016: Vittoria Ceretti by Steven Meisel

Ever since Meisel stopped shooting every cover, Vogue Italia has been in some sort of crisis. An artistic crisis.  It really has been a while since the last time I felt like I NEEDED to have a VI issue in my life. And that's how I feel about this one. I'm definetely not alone. Even the "So you want glamour?" quote on the cover feels like a message from Meisel to all the fashion lovers who have been complaining about the way the magazine was doing things. And I love that. The cover is stunning! It catches your eye inmediately. And the editorial...it couldn't be more beautiful.  Vittoria, who's gorgeous, looks like a classic actress. The boys fit really well in this kind of story. And the last picture (that I can only link to you because it includes nudity) finishes the story. It's actually really cute, since Vittoria and Natalie are a couple in real life. Thank you Meisel for bringing the glamour back. "La modella", photograp...

Fall/Winter 15.16 campaigns: Dior & Oscar de la Renta

When a new designer starts working for a big brand, like these two, there is a lot of judgement. It's like everyone wants them to mess up, so they can criticize their job. When it comes to Raf (Dior) and Peter (ODLR), I feel like I'm completely alone with my opinions. Most people dislike everything Raf does for Dior, and most people praised Peter after they saw his first collection for ODLR. And I couldn't disagree more with them. I'm the minority... because I want to be the minority (insert Green Day's song now). I adore 99% of the things Raf creates, and I was really critical when I talked about Peter's collection. Now that I've seen both campaigns, my opinion hasn't changed. To be honest, Dior's ad is just ok. But I've never been a fan of their campaigns, so it doesn't surprise me. I like Julia as a Dior muse, though.  But ODLR's campaign is wrong in so many ways. It's too soft and perfect. Oscar designed clothes for ...

Spring/Summer 2015 campaigns: Loewe, Dior, Sacai & Diesel Black Gold

Julia Nobis, the icon. She's become a supermodel, and I love it. I feel like people either love or hate Julia, and that says a lot about how unique she is. She's some sort of blonde Freja, and... well, you can't please them all. But the truth is that Julia is a great professional, and most photographers and designers adore her. You can like her work or not, but her bookings are impressive. Meisel loves her, and that's why he shot her for the Prada and the Loewe campaigns. I already talked about Prada, but I thought I should mention it. But, Raf also loves her. She got the Dior campaign for the 3rd season in a row. Not bad. And she also got two more campaigns: Diesel Black Gold and Sacai. Queen of the season!!! Let's talk about these four campaigns ;) Julia Nobis, el icono. Se ha convertido en una supermodelo, y eso me encanta. Siento que la gente o la quiere o la odia, y eso dice mucho de lo única y especial que es. Es una especie de Fre...
