Zara Spring/Summer '18 by Steven Meisel

Imagen
Three seasons ago, Zara surprised us hiring Steven Meisel to shoot their campaign. They worked with important photographers before, but getting Meisel was the final step. I have been a massive fan of this collaboration, specially last season. After two dark collections, we finally get some colour. It also has a Prada vibe that I love. As in his previous two campaigns for the brand, Meisel has included Vittoria on the cast. It's also great to see Fran, one of my new favourites.

#tbt: Karen Elson for Vogue Italia December 2006

Imagen
I saw this image a couple of weeks ago, I don't remember where. But I fell in love immediately. Karen Elson has been on the cover of Italian Vogue 20 times, and covered this edition 3 times in 2006. This December cover is my favourite out of those 3 she got in 2006, and probably my favourite overall. I'll need to find every single one and see if any inspire me more.  The name of the story is "Fashion Fetish and Fantasy", shot by Steven Meisel. And Karen has the perfect look for it, and for anything really, because she's too gorgeous. I love discovering images I never saw before. The magic of fashion! "Fashion Fetish & Fantasy" Ph: Steven Meisel Vi esta imagen hace unas semanas, pero no recuerdo donde. Y me enamoró al instante. Karen Elson ha estado en la portada de Vogue Italia 20 veces, y en 2006 tuvo 3 portadas. Esta de diciembre es mi favorita de entre las de 2006, y ...

UK Vogue December 2017: Abwoa Aboah by Steven Meisel

Imagen
Edward's first issue is finally here. And I am personally SO disappointed. It's quite a thick issue for a month like December, but it definetely lacks quality. The cover had to impact people, and it kind of does. But it's also very forgettable, because it kind of looks like an outtake from her Marc Jacobs beauty. And also because this kind of cover has been done before, several times. It lacks originality as well. What a waste of Meisel! NEXT! ¡SIGUIENTE!

Paris Fashion Week S/S 2018: Loewe campaign, with Vittoria Ceretti

Imagen
Ever since J.W. Anderson started to work for Loewe, their campaign has been released a couple of days before the show. And this year, they have released something a bit different and special. They also have a campaign where you can actually see the clothes, but what I want to show you is this "Fruits" ad with Vittoria Ceretti. The incredible make-up is courtesy of the queen Pat McGrath, who else? And it is the make up and Vittoria's eyes that are the key of this campaign. Obviously, she's quite restricted because of those (sometimes huge) pieces of fruit in her mouth, yet she manages to express different emotions with her eyes. Basically what a real good model should be able to do. Original and well executed. Ph: Steven Meisel Desde que J.W. Anderson tomó las riendas de Loewe, sus campañas han sido publicadas unos días antes del desfile. Y este año, han decidido hacer algo diferente y especial. También tienen una campaña do...

Queen of the campaign season (Part 2): Kiki Willems

Imagen
And the queen of the campaign season is....Kiki Willems!! Again! Very proud fan. Some of you may argue that Faretta had a better season despite scoring less campaigns. She had more OG campaigns but, what I value the most here is the fact that Kiki has been on this level for longer than other girls like Faretta or Vitto. Season after season, she keeps on working with the same professionals and scoring big campaigns. This is like her 4th time getting the Marc Jacobs campaign. That's huge. It really shows how hard she works, and how talented she is. Not all campaigns are out, so she might get another CK line but, at 9 campaigns for the FW 17.18 season, she's already the absolute queen: Alberta Ferretti, by Tim Walker Prada "A city of Women", by Willy Vanderperre Sies Marjan, by Theo Wenner Calvin Klein Mainline, by Willy Vanderperre CK Jeans, by Willy Vanderperre Diesel Black Gold, by Collier Schorr Boss Hugo...

Queen of the campaign season (Part 1): Faretta

Imagen
Now that 95% of the ads are out, let's talk about the two models who killed it during this campaign season. I wanted to also include some honorable mentions for Bella (8 campaigns), Gigi Hadid and Taylor Hill (6 campaigns each) and Freja Beha, Grace Elizabeth & Birgit Kos. They all had outstanding seasons, but they didn't reach neither Faretta's nor the other model's (not telling you yet) level. If you had asked me who I thought will get most campaigns when the shows ended in March, I would have said Faretta. She already scored big campaigns for the SS 17 season, and her runway season was flawless despite skipping NYFW. However, despite getting 8 huge campaigns and working with different photographers, she didn't wowed me once. Her best campaign is probably Zara, the rest...still weak. She has to improve a lot. Zara, by Steven Meisel: Frame, by Erik Torstensson Sacai, by Craig McDean Lanvin, by Paolo Roversi Coach...
