Meet Meghan Roche: New Face from the USA

Imagen
Meghan Roche (Pennsylvania, USA)                -Who is she? Meghan is an American model that I first noticed in July of last year, when she starred in the Givenchy campaign lensed by Meisel.  I actually did a post about that campaign and mentioned I wasn't sure if I liked her, or if I just liked that picture Meisel took. Well, now I know for sure it is her I like. -Career highlights so far: Of course, her Givenchy campaign is one. And the exclusive she did for them the following season is a highlight as well. She mostly has had runway highlights so...

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018: Review #1

Here we go again...and this was supposed to be my second review. I'm sorry but, between the fact that I work pretty much every hour of my life (and when I'm not working, I'm studying) and the fact that NYFW is getting worse every season...I don't know, it just doesn't excite me. Last night I watched the ODLR show live, just because I had nothing better to do and I was bored. I usually go crazy everytime there is a livestream and enjoy it as if I was right there sitting front row. I don't know if you have noticed, but NYFW is losing a lot of its appeal, while LFW is getting better and better every season. I'm obviously lucky to be in London at the moment, because its fashion week has never been so relevant.  And that loss shows also on the models doing shows. Usually, a model that was going to walk the most shows in a season walked 20 shows in NY. Now we have average seasons for models like Faretta who should be everywhere. The only model who is slay...

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 17.18: Review #1

The first couple of days in NY have been quite intense. Lots of political messages in different collections, which I appreciate. But the main show out of all of them was Calvin Klein. I love Raf so very much, and I defended him while he was at Dior. However, this is not going to be remembered as my favourite collection. I see what he tried to do, and I think it's a great start. But many things need to be polished. Despite all of that, I do think he's a better fit for CK than he was for Dior. And we finally saw Lulu on the runway. I'll leave you the video where you can watch CK's show and some more videos with shows I think you may find interesting. See you in a couple of days!

When I decided to do just two reviews during fashion week, I wasn't sure about it. I felt like I was letting you guys down, that you'll think I'm just being lazy, ...but it is the best decision I've made in a while. It's not that I don't have time to write about the shows...I barely have time to watch them. It should be better during the European fashion weeks, though.  Anyway, I've selected 9 collections that I want to talk about. Three of them (Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger and Thakoon) are part of the "see now, buy now" trend, so they actually belong to the FW collections. But they've been presented during this week, so I'll talk about them anyway.

-Lacoste: Lacoste...always a favourite. For me, they're the only ones who can do sporty chic without annoying me.  Though, to be honest, if you read what I think about one of their collections, you already know what I think about all of them. It's simple, I like it. And after seeing other sport brands presenting their collections "designed" by celebs, this just feels like Haute Couture. -Jill Stuart: Another favourite. However, I don't always like their collections. But I want to like them, if that makes sense. This collection is very hit and miss....

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016: Review #3

-Alexander Wang: We all expected big top models showing up at Wang's 10th anniversay show. And, what did we got? Lexi opening the show. Talk about anticlimatic.  More designers have been celebrating anniversaries this week, which is quite interesting. They used this moment to show "the best of...", and it usually just looked incredibly uninspired. Wang's collection looked a bit too "streetstyle" for my taste, but that's what Wang is about, right? Not my cup of tea, but I think it was a good celebration of him as a designer. The casting, however...
