Spring/Summer 2018 campaigns: Valentino & Miu Miu

Imagen
Two of my favourite brands have produced two of my favourite campaigns of the season. Rianne, who may end up being this season's campaign queen, is in both of them and is the highlight of both ads.  Gigi, who not many people will see as a Valentino girl, is the other highlight. UK Vogue June 2016: 100th anniversary, Kate Middleton

PH: Josh Olins First things first: Happy Birthday, British Vogue! You may know already that UK Vogue has been celebrating its 100th anniversary for a while. Specially if you live in London (or the UK, I guess) like myself. They've spent a lot of money on advertising. Everyone expected something big, and something big we got. Kate had never posed for a fashion magazine before. So, getting that exclusive is massive. And being able to keep it a secret for over 3 months is even more impressive. I'm not a monarchy person (I'm a republican in the Spanish meaning of the word, not the American), but we're not here to talk about politics, are we? So I'll just judge this cover in an artistic way, and I like it.  The stylism, the location, the smile, ...they got it all right. They didn't try to make her look like someone she's not, which is definetely the way to go. And the whole issue is a collectors issue, really. We have the best British models ...

Vogue covers, February 2016

February is the calm before the storm. Lots of magazines just want to create an ok issue while they wait to release the first big issue of the year. However, this month has been quite good magazine wise. Vogue UK February 2016: Dakota Johnson by Alasdair McLellan I'm not Dakota's fan, but I like this cover more everytime I see it. Quite a solid issue too. No soy fan de Dakota, pero esta portada me gusta más cuanto más la veo. El número es muy sólido también. Vogue Germany February 2016: Daria Strokous, Maartje Verhoef & Mariacarla Boscono by Giampaolo Sgura This is a great issue. I have Maartje's cover, which is my favourite out of the 3. But ...

Spring/Summer 2016 campaigns: Chanel & Fendi

My gif (Video source: fashionfad official yt's channel) Chanel & Fendi, Fendi & Chanel... so similar, yet so different. You guys know I like Fendi better. But when it comes to these ads, I'm not sure which one is my favourite. I like Fendi's collection better, but I like the location used for Chanel's ad more. Casting wise...well, Edie opened both Chanel and Fendi, so it was easy to guess she'll be in one of the campaigns. I quite like her for this kind of ad, since her look goes well with the clothes and the background. However, Vanessa is a big fat no. Then we have Mica and Lineisy. After being a Prada exclusive, every brand wanted to hire Lineisy for their show. So it's no surprise to see her booking major campaigns like Chanel and Givenchy. Mica, however...I just don't get her look. She looks awful on the runway, and has 0 versatility in front of the camera. It's quite annoying, actually. But there's a great picture in this ...
