New York Fashion Week FW 18.19: Ralph Lauren show & Sanne Vloet's vlog

Imagen
Ralph Lauren Funnily enough, the Ralph Lauren show is a "see now, buy now" show, which means it's actually a SS 2018 collection. However, it's been presented now, so it's now when I'll talk about it. I love it, simple as that. There is something about Ralph Lauren that I love, and it's probably how simple yet incredibly flattering his designs are. He wants to make women and men look good, and that's just a great concept. The set was very appropiate for the collection and I love the opening of the show. And I need to give credit where credit is due to all the models that walked on that runway barefoot. That's not easy, believe me.

New York Fashion Week FW 18.19: Proenza Schouler's "Arizona" perfume & Colovos fashion show

Imagen
First post of the fashion month and I'm already apologizing for not posting anything on Saturday. It's busy around here, but today I have two things in one...to compensate. "Arizona", first fragance by Proenza Schouler: Vittoria Ceretti by Tyrone Lebon Anyone who knows me just a little, will know I adore Proenza Schouler. And I adore fragances as well, so this was definetely a match made in heaven. Add Vittoria to the mix, and I can't deal with all these fashionable feelings. There was an event during NYFW to present this fragance and Vittoria was there looking her best.

Tiffany & Co. Fragrance launch event, Vittoria Ceretti

Imagen
On the first day of NYFW, Tifanny & Co. organized an event to promote their new perfume, which is described as a "perfect bridal scent". Intriguing. Vittoria happens to be one of the faces of this new fragance (shot by Steven Meisel), so she had to attend this event. And, well, she looked more stunning than she ever has. And that is saying quite a lot. From the dress (which is very flattering on her), to the hair and make-up (very minimal but with a nice pop of colour that compliments her skin colour), everything works. It also is a style that she wouldn't pick herself, since her style is more on the casual side. So credit goes to whoever styled her. Me intriga.

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018: Review #1

Here we go again...and this was supposed to be my second review. I'm sorry but, between the fact that I work pretty much every hour of my life (and when I'm not working, I'm studying) and the fact that NYFW is getting worse every season...I don't know, it just doesn't excite me. Last night I watched the ODLR show live, just because I had nothing better to do and I was bored. I usually go crazy everytime there is a livestream and enjoy it as if I was right there sitting front row. I don't know if you have noticed, but NYFW is losing a lot of its appeal, while LFW is getting better and better every season. I'm obviously lucky to be in London at the moment, because its fashion week has never been so relevant.  And that loss shows also on the models doing shows. Usually, a model that was going to walk the most shows in a season walked 20 shows in NY. Now we have average seasons for models like Faretta who should be everywhere. The only model who is slay...

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 17.18: Review #2

Second and final review for NYFW. It has been quite a good week, if I'm honest. I feel like I'm more into fashion than I was last season, and that makes me happy. I hope LFW doesn't kill my vibe ;)  Shows that are worth a mention are ODLR and Proenza Schouler. De la Renta because they have new designers, who I think did a great job. This felt more like the classic ODLR than Copping's ODLR ever did. And Proenza because this was their last show in NY. They're moving to Paris, which is always exciting. I adore this brand and if I could purchase all their clothes, I won't hesitate for a second. This collection was supposed to be all about NY, which is a concept that I fail to understand. But I know I liked it, so it's all good. I also really enjoyed Narciso Rodriguez's show, as usual, and Ralph Lauren's. You can argue that Ralph does the same thing over and over again, but...it's SO pretty! How can I not like it? Segunda y última reseñ...

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 17.18: Review #1

The first couple of days in NY have been quite intense. Lots of political messages in different collections, which I appreciate. But the main show out of all of them was Calvin Klein. I love Raf so very much, and I defended him while he was at Dior. However, this is not going to be remembered as my favourite collection. I see what he tried to do, and I think it's a great start. But many things need to be polished. Despite all of that, I do think he's a better fit for CK than he was for Dior. And we finally saw Lulu on the runway. I'll leave you the video where you can watch CK's show and some more videos with shows I think you may find interesting. See you in a couple of days!

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 17.18: Schedule

It's fashion week time. Even though we already had a TH show in LA yesterday...but that was SS 17 and out of the offical calendar.  Today, I wanted to give you a link for the schedule for NYFW. New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017: Review #1

When I decided to do just two reviews during fashion week, I wasn't sure about it. I felt like I was letting you guys down, that you'll think I'm just being lazy, ...but it is the best decision I've made in a while. It's not that I don't have time to write about the shows...I barely have time to watch them. It should be better during the European fashion weeks, though.  Anyway, I've selected 9 collections that I want to talk about. Three of them (Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger and Thakoon) are part of the "see now, buy now" trend, so they actually belong to the FW collections. But they've been presented during this week, so I'll talk about them anyway.

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017: Schedule

Fashion week time again! I feel like it's been ages since the last time we had all these fashion shows everyday. But it's only been 6 months. Missed it? Today, I'm sharing with you the NYFW schedule, so you can write it down or print it. You don't want to miss your favourite shows. This time, I'm doing things differently on the blog. As you may know, I have to work. And apart from real work, I have a blog and a youtube channel too. Plus some studying that needs to be done daily. And the day still only has 24 hours =/ So, for the main 3 fashion weeks, I'll do 2 reviews and 1 for LFW. After that I'll do a beauty post with my favourite beauty looks and a streetstyle one, as always. If you want to know more about which shows I'm loving, follow me on IG (ana_bababoom). I'll post pictures from shows I like everyday. And I'll try to take some cool pictures during LFW. I hope you enjoy this fashion month! http://newyorkfashionweeklive.com/sc...

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 16.17: Beauty looks and LFW Schedule

NYFW is over!! And judging by all the beauty looks that I'm going to show you today, it's been great in the beauty department. MAKE-UP :   -Nicholas K: I love a statment bold lip. It honestly steals the show. You only need to make sure you have a good base on the rest of the face, and that's it. Easy, quick, stunning. -Jason Wu: It's all about the lashes here. Not the most wearable look, but not as bad as you may think. It's quite an interesting look. -Altuzarra: Some girls got a "n...

-Proenza Schouler: I have to talk about the casting first. I apologize if this bit is not that interesting for you. Exclusive wise, I'm quite happy. Julia B. is back and you know I love Roos (semi-exclusive) too. But this Mayka girl, who is from Spain, makes me mad. There are so many beautiful models in Spain trying to be successful in this industry and, who's the one scoring exclusives for Prada and Proenza? The ugly one. And when I say ugly, I mean it. So unfair. Surprised to see CBN back, by the way. What about the collection? Well, I kind of have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. The first bunch of outfits is STUNNING. But I feel like, after that, the collection got worst. It's still a gorgeous collection, don't get me wrong. But the second and third bunch of outfits is not as striking as the first.  And yeah, I always divide collections in three parts. You may have noticed that ;) Tengo que hablar del casting primero, siento si esa par...

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 16.17: Review #6

-Oscar de la Renta: While everyone raved about Peter's collections for the brand, I judged them all. And I feel like that worked, because now what I hear about this show sounds more like what I think. Not trying to say that I'm the only one who can be right, though. When you start designing for a brand, you have two options: a) Continue doing what the original designer did; b) Change the style of the brand completely, à la Slimane. Peter did a bit of both. He continued doing dresses for princesses, like she was doing at Nina Ricci, but tried to adapt those dresses to what de la Renta used to do. It wasn't a smooth transition, but it wasn't the worst I have seen. What bothered me was that people raved about it and said that it was like de la Renta never left. Well, excuse me?  Oscar didn't use to cast too young looking models, because he designed clothes for women, strong women. So doing dresses for princesses that seem to be made of cotton candy is not ...

-Rag&Bone: I like to point out how I liked things before they got mainstream. When it comes to Rag&Bone, I point it out often. It is one of the first "not so popular" brands I started to follow when I got into fashion. Now I feel like every blogger/youtuber owns something from the brand, which has made it more...well, mainstream. But these designers have been killing it for a while. They've always had that kind of urban style that's so trendy at the moment. However, I haven't been the biggest fan of their last 2 or 3 collections. But I'm always looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us. And this time, they didn't disappoint. Ahora...
