Meet Fran Summers: New face from the UK

Imagen
Fran Summers (England, UK) / Storm Models                        Traditionally, I like to do a special post for my birthday. Not one that is about me, but one about something I really like. This year, it is going to be another "Meet this new face". And it is all about one of my favourites of the moment: Fran Summers. - Who is she? Fran is from Yorkshire, in England. And she started modelling not that long ago. This runway season was her third, and her second one doing only top shows. Last September she had two exclusives: in London (J.W. Anderson) and Milan (Prada); and walked a bunch of top shows in Paris. After that she got 4 campaigns ...

Paris Fashion Week S/S 2018: Alexandra Micu, star of the runway season

Imagen
Chloé S/S 2018 How do you define being the star of the season? I've said many times that, for me, that is impacting people more than the rest. That's why I've called Birgit Kos a runway star in the past, and also why I'm calling Alexandra Micu this season's star. Even though she skipped both NY and London. Alexandra's debut was as a exclusive for Louis Vuitton in the FW 16.17 season. After that, she has done other shows but was still very exclusive (last season, she was a worldwide exclusive for LV). And she's only done campaigns for LV, so I'm looking forward to seeing her in other ads. Being so exclusive can mean two things: 1) By the time you do a full season no one cares about you anymore, or 2) By the time you decide to do a full season, most brands are desperate to have you on their show. Guess which one happened to her? She hasn't walked every single show thrown at her like Cara Taylor, but has only been in top shows. It...

Runway star of the season: Birgit Kos

Elle France Nov. '15 Who should be the star of the season? The model that walks the most shows? The one that opens more shows than any other model? ...maybe, but for me it is the model that makes the biggest impact on the people watching the shows. The model than impressed me, personally, the most was Birgit Kos. And that led to me doing some research about her. Her face looked familiar, and I felt like she had been doing top shows for seasons. But actually, that wasn't true. I think I remembered her from her SS 16 Giorgio Armani campaign. She also caught my eye because of her campaigns for Miu Miu, where she outshined the other models. For the SS 17 season she only did one show: Miu Miu, which she opened. And she carried that momentum to this FW 17.18 season. She skipped both NY and London, but started with a bang closing the Fendi show. I can see her getting the campaign. ...

Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 17.18: Review #1

Paris! What a beautiful city full of beautiful shows. I'm in such a good fashion mood lately. And Dries Van Noten helped with that by having the best cast a show could have. The designer has been calling models who have been his muses for the last couple of months. This show was his 100th show and he wanted it to be a show where models who know how to wear his clothes walked. It wasn't just that he casted iconic models, it was that he casted models who fit the brand. Sometimes, we just have shows with it girls who are amazing, but...they may not fit the show as much as other would. For me, this show will forever be an iconic moment and I'm glad I got to watch it as it happened.

Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 16.17: Review #2

-Chloé: I still don't get used to seeing a Chloé show during the week and in the morning. It doesn't feel right. The collection was more than right, though. It may look like more of the same, because it kind of is. But I love it. I know many people dislike this brand right now because it's too boho and, well, repetitive. But I kind of like that about the brand. If you look at it as a whole, you may not like it. But there are some outfits that are stunning, and you can't deny it ;) No me acostumbro a ver un desfile de Chloé entre semana y por la mañana.

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016: Review #2

-Chloé: Well, when I woke up today, I didn't expect this kind of review about Chloé's show. But, it's happening, people...I'm going to say bad things about this collection. I know, I can't believe it either. First of all, it felt so weird to see a Chloé show on a Thursday morning!  We've had enough sporty chic. Chloé should be boho-pretty, and this isn't pretty.  I feel more sad than disappointed, to be honest. Such a sad show. ...

I usually make a post for each fashion week, but this time I have many posts written and I don't want to wait more time to post them. That's why I'm showing you my favourite shows from each FW in one post. It's not big deal, but I wanted to explain why was I changing the way I do things. Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 15.16: Review #4

-Mugler: This isn't bad at all. It feels like he's trying to find his own identity, and that's why it doesn't look very Mugler. But it's nice. Kind of simple, but nice and modern. -Elie Saab: 3rd season in a row that I won't complain about Elie Saab. Well, more like 3rd collection. This looks like a RTW show, as it should. And that's the best thing I can say about it. There are some dreamy gowns, of course. But that's ok since we can see gowns in most shows.
