Paris Fashion Week S/S 2018: Alexandra Micu, star of the runway season

Imagen
Chloé S/S 2018 How do you define being the star of the season? I've said many times that, for me, that is impacting people more than the rest. That's why I've called Birgit Kos a runway star in the past, and also why I'm calling Alexandra Micu this season's star. Even though she skipped both NY and London. Alexandra's debut was as a exclusive for Louis Vuitton in the FW 16.17 season. After that, she has done other shows but was still very exclusive (last season, she was a worldwide exclusive for LV). And she's only done campaigns for LV, so I'm looking forward to seeing her in other ads. Being so exclusive can mean two things: 1) By the time you do a full season no one cares about you anymore, or 2) By the time you decide to do a full season, most brands are desperate to have you on their show. Guess which one happened to her? She hasn't walked every single show thrown at her like Cara Taylor, but has only been in top shows. It...

-Mugler: Mugler is all about fantasy. They create a women that doesn't exist in a way, but that it's very powerful at the same time. All that leather...you can't wear that much leather without self-esteem, can you? Same goes for the silhouettes.  This is both cool and strange. I can't see people wearing this clothes, but at the same time, they make you dream. And that's what fashion should be about... -Elie Saab: Sara Sampaio opening a show...it's like the want me to hate the collection. She doesn't have the height and the beauty to...

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016: Review #4

Guess what? I haven't been watching the shows today. Unexpected, I know. However, this time I didn't watch the shows because I was doing something fashion related. I went to the Louis Vuitton exhibition, and I'll talk about it after the shows. So here I am now, ready to watch everything in 10 minutes. It's 21.55 pm, and I really need to go to bed soon because I'm super tired. Today I was supposed to check 3 shows: Mugler, Elie Saab and Nina Ricci. Favourite out of those 3? Mugler. I'm actually getting into the Mugler look, which I wasn't a huge fan of. It's different, but original and interesting. I like it. Elie Saab was weird. Most outfits didn't look like they belonged to this brand, which isn't necessarily bad. But it's just strange. I'll have to watch the show again to see if I end up getting why this collection is the way it is. And Nina Ricci is kind of strange too. I'm so used to their collections for princesses, ...

My gif (Video source: Mugler's youtube channel) I'll publish my post about the fall/winter trends soon. There, you'll be able to see that eyeliner is a must this upcoming season. You can apply this product in many ways. And, of course, you can also experiment with colours. But, the most basic of them all is black eyeliner. You can't survive without it ;) As I said, you can use it to draw different kinds of lines around your eyes. I really liked the way they did it at the Mugler show, so I decided to give it a try. It's not the easiest line to draw, but it's not too difficult either. And it looks really nice and a bit more special. Try it, and let me know how you like it ;) Publicaré dentro de poco mi entrada sobre las tendencias de otoño/invierno. En ella veréis que el delineado será un básico la temporada que viene. Lo podéis aplicar de diferentes maneras. Y por supuesto, podéis experimentar con colores. Pero el más básico de todos ...

-Mugler: This isn't bad at all. It feels like he's trying to find his own identity, and that's why it doesn't look very Mugler. But it's nice. Kind of simple, but nice and modern. Esto no está nada mal. Siento que está intentando encontrar su propia identidad, y es por eso que no se parece tanto a Mugler. Pero es bonito. Bastante simple, pero bonito y moderno.   -Elie Saab: 3rd season in a row that I won't complain about Elie Saab. Well, more like 3rd collection. This looks like a RTW show, as it should. And that's the best thing I can say about it. There are some dreamy gowns, of course. But that's ok since we can see gowns in most shows.
