MET Gala 2018: Best dressed

Imagen
Yesterday, it was the first Monday of May. And that can only mean one thing...the MET Gala. It was also a Bank Holiday here but it's not as important, for whatever reason. And I thought I could tell you about my favourite outfits for the night, and while I was looking at the looks, I thought I would do a little countdown. -Madonna, Jean Paul Gaultier: It says a lot about the rests of the guests, and not in a good way, that Madonna was the only one wearing JPG. Because, you know, he only has hundreds of designs that fit the theme. It's no surprise that Madonna did well yesterday, because this is her look. She's done it a hundred times, and it looks natural on her. Dice mucho del resto de i...

New York Fashion Week FW 18.19: Ralph Lauren show & Sanne Vloet's vlog

Ralph Lauren Funnily enough, the Ralph Lauren show is a "see now, buy now" show, which means it's actually a SS 2018 collection. However, it's been presented now, so it's now when I'll talk about it. I love it, simple as that. There is something about Ralph Lauren that I love, and it's probably how simple yet incredibly flattering his designs are. He wants to make women and men look good, and that's just a great concept. The set was very appropiate for the collection and I love the opening of the show. And I need to give credit where credit is due to all the models that walked on that runway barefoot. That's not easy, believe me.

NYFW is over. And here I bring you a bunch of shows that took place in the last couple of days. I'll try my hardest to have a post up tomorrow with some beauty looks, but LFW starts tomorrow and I'm going to be very busy. But I'll try!! Queen of the campaign season (Part 1): Faretta

Imagen
Now that 95% of the ads are out, let's talk about the two models who killed it during this campaign season. I wanted to also include some honorable mentions for Bella (8 campaigns), Gigi Hadid and Taylor Hill (6 campaigns each) and Freja Beha, Grace Elizabeth & Birgit Kos. They all had outstanding seasons, but they didn't reach neither Faretta's nor the other model's (not telling you yet) level. If you had asked me who I thought will get most campaigns when the shows ended in March, I would have said Faretta. She already scored big campaigns for the SS 17 season, and her runway season was flawless despite skipping NYFW. However, despite getting 8 huge campaigns and working with different photographers, she didn't wowed me once. Her best campaign is probably Zara, the rest...still weak. She has to improve a lot. Zara, by Steven Meisel: Frame, by Erik Torstensson Sacai, by Craig McDean Lanvin, by Paolo Roversi Coach...

Campaign season queens (S/S 17): Vittoria Ceretti

14 years-old Vitto, 2013 Today I wanted to talk to you about one of the campaign queens of the season. Since I haven't talked about many campaigns this season, I thought it'd be nice to show you a good bunch of them while talking about the two models who scored the most ads this season.  I'm talking about Vittoria and Kiki Willems, two of my favourites. Vittoria got 9 campaigns and Kiki 10, but I will talk about her on Friday. Vitto started her career in 2013, and she managed to book some good shows and campaigns, mainly for Armani and D&G. But it wasn't until Ashley Brokaw gave her the seal of appoval that she got all the (deserved) attention she's getting now. For the SS 17 season, she got 9 campaigns and she was also part of the March cover of US Vogue, which is an incredible achievement for a model. Here are her campaigns: Ralph Lauren Icons, by Steven Meisel YSL 03, by Nathalie Canguilhem Fendi, by Karl Lagerfeld ...

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 17.18: Review #2

Imagen
Second and final review for NYFW. It has been quite a good week, if I'm honest. I feel like I'm more into fashion than I was last season, and that makes me happy. I hope LFW doesn't kill my vibe ;)  Shows that are worth a mention are ODLR and Proenza Schouler. De la Renta because they have new designers, who I think did a great job. This felt more like the classic ODLR than Copping's ODLR ever did. And Proenza because this was their last show in NY. They're moving to Paris, which is always exciting. I adore this brand and if I could purchase all their clothes, I won't hesitate for a second. This collection was supposed to be all about NY, which is a concept that I fail to understand. But I know I liked it, so it's all good. I also really enjoyed Narciso Rodriguez's show, as usual, and Ralph Lauren's. You can argue that Ralph does the same thing over and over again, but...it's SO pretty! How can I not like it? Segunda y última reseñ...

Fall/Winter 16.17 campaigns: Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Proenza Schouler & Max Mara

My gif (Video source: Valentino's yt channel) Back to the campaigns!! Today, I'll be talking about 3 brands that presented gorgeous collections during fashion week and one whose collection I didn't like much. Were the photographers able to work their magic this time? We'll see. Veremos. Ralph Lauren Fall/Winter 16.17: Sanne Vloet & Cindy Bruna by Bruce Weber Sanne is the new Valentina, and that's great. However, I miss seeing in this ad some models who were lovely on the runway show, such as Kate G. (who got the Polo Ralph Lauren campaign) and Maartje Verhoef (who closed the show).  The pictures are classic Ralph Lauren. Nothing new, but really pretty.

Spring/Summer 2016 campaigns: Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren & DKNY

My gif (Video source: Ralph Lauren's yt channel) When I decided to write this post about these 3 American brands, I looked around and thought: I'm probably the less American person in Europe. It's just a funny thought, to be honest. But I'm used to friends and people around me saying how they want to do things the "American way" (whatever that means, lol). But I'm a proud European, which is kind of strange considering my age. I feel alone. That being said, if there's something I envy about America (or the EEUU, really) is how proud they are of being who they are and doing what they do. Even if they're terribly wrong sometimes (aren't we all wrong sometimes?). But let's just focus on the fashion aspect of this thought now. We have Spanish designers presenting their collections in NY, Italians presenting in Paris, British presenting in Paris as well, ...mainly because of money (taxes), though. But the Americans (most of them anywa...
