New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 15.16: Review #2
Hello! Did you miss me?
As you can imagine, there's a good reason why I haven't been active these last couple of days. On Friday, my laptop "died". It was the weirdest thing ever, really. And the worst timing ever too, I know.
But, it works again. So, let's forget about my sad Saturday. And, let's focus on the shows.
Today, I'll talk about the shows that took place on Friday and Saturday. Tomorrow, I'll talk about today's and tomorrow's shows.
It should be a long post, so you may want to grab a cup of tea ;)

Como podéis imaginar, hay una buena razón para mi ausencia de estos últimos días. El viernes, mi ordenador "murió". Ha sido una cosa rarísima, de verdad. Y el timing no podía ser peor, me consta.
Pero, vuelve a funcionar. Así que, olvidemos mi triste sábado. Y centrémonos en los desfiles.
Hoy, hablaré de los desfiles del viernes y del sábado. Mañana hablaré de los desfiles de hoy y mañana.
Debería ser una entrada larga, así que igual os conviene ir a por una taza de té ;)
-Polo Ralph Lauren:
This show confuses me. A couple of seasons ago, it was part of the normal Ralph Lauren show. Last season, they did some kind of presentation with like a 3D screen or something. And now they have a lookbook.
I tried to find these pictures on Thursday, but I couldn't. Now that I have them, I'll talk briefly about the clothes.
As you can tell, this is classic Ralph Lauren. This Polo line is supposed to be younger, and it kind of is. Still super classy and posh, but it's not as classic as the Ralph Lauren Collection line.
I like it.
Este desfile me confunde. Hace un par de temporadas, formó parte del desfile normal de Ralph Lauren. La temporada pasada hicieron una presentación con una pantalla 3D o algo así. Y ahora tienen un lookbook.
Intenté buscar estas fotos el jueves, pero no pude. Ahora que las tengo, hablaré brevemente de la ropa.
Como podéis ver, son del estilo clásico de Ralph Lauren. Esta línea Polo está pensada para un público más juvenil, lo cual se puede apreciar. Aún así es muy clásico todo, y algo pijo. Pero no es tan clásico como la línea de Ralph Lauren Collection.
A mi me gusta.

I don't really know what to say, to be honest. Very fall and winter, that's for sure.
I like the colours, but I'm not sure about the collection as a whole. Very hit and miss, actually.
No se que decir, la verdad. Es muy apropiada para otoño e invierno, eso está claro.
Me gustan los colores, pero no estoy segura de que opino de la colección como conjunto. Hay piezas que funcionan y otras que no pegan para nada.
-Cushnie et Ochs:
I used to enjoy this show, but I feel like they do the same thing over and over again. And the problem is that it looks tackier every season. I used to think this was a sexy show, where you could find clothes made for brave and super sexy women. But now, I just see tacky everywhere.
Solía gustarme este desfile, pero siento que ahora hacen lo mismo una y otra vez. Y el problema es que cada vez me resulta más vulgar. Solía considerarlo un desfile donde encontrar ropa hecha para mujeres sexys y atrevidas. Pero ahora, solo veo vulgaridad.

Gotta love Sweden!!
This is one of those small brands that create beautiful clothes. This collection is way better than what bigger brands with huge budgets have done. I adore it.

Esta es una de esas marcas pequeñas que crea ropa preciosa. Esta colección es mucho mejor que lo que hacen grandes marcas con presupuestos gigantes. Me encanta.

Am I Lacoste's biggest fan? Maybe...
However, I have to say this isn't my favourite collection. I love the tennis references, but I don't know. There is something lacking, don't you think?
A bit disappointing, but still beautiful.
¿Soy la fan número 1 de Lacoste? Puede ser...
Sin embargo, tengo que decir que esta no es mi colección favorita. Me gustan las referencias tenísticas pero, no sé. Falta algo, ¿no creéis?
Algo decepcionante, pero bonito.

Black, cool, edgy,... I think I like it.
With Wang, I never know. I've only ever loved one of his collection. I know I don't love this one, but I quite like it.
I never thought I'll see Kendall walking for him, but she fits in this show really well. There's something about her that makes her look particularly good in these "gothic" shows. I find that quite interesting.
Negro, cool, moderno,... creo que me gusta.
Con Wang, nunca se que pensar. Solo me he enamorado de una colección suya. Se que no estoy enamorada de esta, pero me gusta bastante.
Nunca pensé que vería a Kendall desfilando para él, pero pegaba totalmente con esta colección. Hay algo en ella que la hace estar especialmente bien en estos desfiles "góticos". Me resulta curioso.

If I look at every single ouftit, I feel like I like the clothes (not the fur). But, do I like the collection as a whole? And, does this collection make sense? Those are the big questions.
This is like a mix of Gucci, Tom Ford, and even Versace. I don't know what to think.

Si miro cada pase, siento que si puedo decir que me gusta la ropa (no la piel). Pero, si miro la colección como conjunto, ¿me sigue gustando? Y sobre todo, ¿tiene sentido esta colección? Esas son las grandes preguntas.
Es como una mezcla de Gucci, Tom Ford e incluso Versace. No se que pensar.
