Vogue Japan February 2017: by Luigi&Iango

When I first saw this cover, I was a bit skeptical. Vogue Japan has produced this kind of cover twice in a year (more or less) and that feels strange. You can't proclaim that you're showing the next big models every 12 months. That's something you may do every 4 years, and using stablished models to do so. 

Also, the group doesn't make all the sense in the world. What are Imaan and Stella doing there? They don't belong to the same generation as the others. And I feel like someone like Kiki Willems should be included in this group. Or Roos Abels.

Anyway, after those thoughts, I began to like the cover. Agnes, Vitto and Odette look stunning. And on the fold-out, Camille is killing it. My eyes go straight to her, which is great. A lot of people doubted she could deliver in print, and this proves them wrong. 

But the best thing about this is the editorial. Agnes, who is so new to this world, is the absolute star. Followed by Vitto and Odette, whose presence is just incredible.

I'm not usually a fan of these big casts, of this magazine and of these photographers, but they killed it this time.

Cuando vi esta portada por primera vez, había grandes cantidades de escepticismo en mi. Vogue Japón ha producido este tipo de portada dos veces en un año (más o menos) y eso me resulta extraño. No puedes proclamar que enseñas a las nuevas supermodelos cada 12 años. Eso es algo que se hace cada 4 años y usando modelos consagradas.

Además, el grupo no tiene una coherencia total. ¿Qué hacen ahí Imaan y Stella? No pertenecen a la misma generación que el resto. Y siento que falta alguien como Kiki Willems o Roos Abels.

Sea como sea, le acabé cogiendo el punto a la portada. Agnes, Vitto y Odette salen divinas. Y en el desplegable, Camille sale increíble. La mirada se me va a ella, lo cual es genial. Mucha gente dudaba de sus habilidades en fotografía, y esto creo que demuestra que estaban equivocados.

Pero lo mejor es el editorial. Agnes es la estrella absoluta, pese a lo nueva que es en este mundo. Seguida de Vitto y Odette, cuya presencia es increíble.

No suelo ser fan de estos castings tan grandes, de esta revista, ni de estos fotógrafos. Pero esta vez han cumplido.
