Abuse and harassment in fashion (My thoughts, Terry Richardson, etc...)
The last couple of weeks have been pretty intense because of the Harvey Weinstein controversy. It has open Pandora's box, and nothing good happens when we open that box. It has also opened a debate in the fashion industry, where people discuss the abuse models have suffered, mainly while they were still underage. It is obviously a very serious topic, and that's why I want to address it. I have to start by saying that everything we've seen and read in the last couple of weeks shows how messed up the world is. If a powerful woman (I'm talking actresses known everywhere, with tons of influence and that are respected by many) doesn't feel like she can tell the world that she has been harassed, what kind of hope is left for the rest of us? No matter how powerful you are, really. If you are a victim, you'll be victim blamed. Society will make you feel like it's your fault (spoiler alert: it never is your fault).
