UK Vogue May 2018, by Craig McDean

When Edward was announced as EIC of UK Vogue, everyone screamed "diversity! Finally!". They were excited to know that the British edition of Vogue (known for its lack of diversity) will stop being so out of touch on such an important topic. A couple of months later, on Edward's 6th issue, we got the diverse cover many were waiting for.

As always, some people loved it and some despised it. The ones who didn't like it said things along the lines of how forced the cover feels, how forced the diversity feels. Despite wanting to see all types of men and women being represented (minus the ones wearing symbols that promote the oppression of men or women), I do feel it is slightly forced. 

I also believe that diversity is more than just looks or race, but that's another story for another day.

For 2 models featured in this cover, this certifies their status as the top new faces. Both Adut and Fran have now covered Uk Vogue and Italian Vogue. 2 out of the Big Four already, not bad.

For Vittoria, this means completing the Big Four. For me, she is the top model of the decade, even if some people refuse to accept that.

Cuando se anunció que Edward iba a ser el nuevo director de Vogue Uk, todo el mundo empezó a gritar "¡diversidad al fin!". Les emocionaba saber que la edición británica de Vogue (conocida por su falta de diversidad) iba a dejar de estar tan desfasada en algo tan importante. Un par de meses después, en el sexto número realizado por Edward, por fin tenemos la portada diversa que muchos esperaban.

Como siempre, hubo gente a la que le encantó y gente que detestó esta imagen. Los que no estaban contentos con la portada, aludieron a argumentos como que se notaba muy forzado. Pese a querer ver a todo tipo de mujer y hombre (menos los que llevan símbolos que promueven la opresión) representados, si que siento que es algo forzado.

También creo que la diversidad va más allá de la apariencia o la raza, pero eso es otro tema. 

Para dos modelos de esta portada, su presencia las certifica como las mejores new faces del momento. Tanto Adut como Fran ya han estado en las portadas de Vogue Italia y Vogue UK. 2 de las 4 grandes, nada mal.

Para Vittoria significa completar el Big Four. Para mi es la top de la década, pese a que muchos se nieguen a aceptarlo.
