Meghan Roche for Givenchy FW 17.18, by S. Meisel

Now that Ricardo left Givenchy, I was wondering what was going to happen with the brand. Clare is a designer that I loved for Chloé but, what about Givenchy? Those two brands couldn't be more different. 

This campaign shows that the brand will still have that dark vibe it had before. But the question is: for how long? 
Only time will tell.

But the reason why I wanted to talk about this is to show you this picture of Meghan Roche, a model I didn't know about until she appeared on this campaign. And something strange happened when I saw this picture, because I just fell in love and that doesn't happen often.
Then I wondered if it was just the Meisel effect, and by looking at her instagram...I think it was that. Is she going to be able to produce another shot like that one without Meisel's magic? I hope so, because this picture of her is already iconic for me.


Ahora que Ricardo abandonó Givenchy, me preguntaba que iba a pasar con la marca. Clare es una diseñadora que me encantaba para Chloé pero, ¿y en Givenchy? Esas dos marcas no pueden ser más diferentes.

Esta campaña muestra que la marca va a mantener ese toque oscuro que solía tener. Pero la pregunta es: ¿hasta cuando?
El tiempo dirá.

Pero el verdadero motivo por el que quería hablar de la campaña es para enseñaros esta foto de Meghan Roche, una modelo que no conocía. Y algo muy extraño me pasó al verla, porque me enamoré al instante y eso no pasa a menudo.
Luego me pregunté si sería solo el efecto Meisel y viendo su instagram parece ser el caso. ¿Va a poder producir más fotos tan increíbles como esta sin la magia de Meisel? Ojalá, porque esta foto para mi ya es icónica.

I was 3 in 1992, and I couldn't care less about fashion.As a 90's kid, I know who all the supermodels are because I saw them on the tv very often. But then again, it wasn't until 2007 that I started to love fashion, so I don't really know much about fashion during the 90's. That makes me quite sad, since it was such a great moment fashion wise. However, it's hard to find scans or videos of that time. This editorial has been scanned by kelles , at TFS forum. A couple of weeks ago, I was watching tv and I found a fashion documentarie on Sky arts. The documentarie is called "In Vogue: the editor's eye". I really recommend it because, even if it was filmed in 2012, it's something that you need to watch if you really like fashion. Lots of iconic pictures are shown in this documentarie. Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon April 2018: Wrap up!

The readathon is over! And it honestly was a lot of fun. I hadn't been reading too much lately, and it was great to be able to dedicate one day to just that.  Now let me tell you about the 546 pages I read. El maratón de lectura ha terminado. Y la verdad que lo disfruté mucho. Últimamente no había tenido tiempo para leer, y me encantó poder dedicar un día a hacer solo eso. Ahora dejadme que os cuente que me parecen las 546 páginas que leí.   -"We should all be feminists" & "Dear Ijeawele, A feminist manifesto in fifteen suggestions", by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I gave 5 stars to both of these books. It was the first two I read, and I completely loved them.  I liked "We should all be feminists" a bit less, since it was more of general message. It made me think a lot, but I find "Dear Ijeawele..." to be more of my kind of message. As a feminist, I enjoyed both, but I found one more complete than the other. Highly rec...
