Karlie Kloss, newest ambassador for Estée Lauder

Imagen
Estée Lauder is known for hiring some of the biggest names for their campaigns. Now Karlie is part of that iconic list of names. On the video created to announce these news (which I love), Karlie says that it has been a dream of hers working for Estée Lauder. I actually remember an interview she did when she was a new face saying that she wanted to work for Marc Jacobs, Prada and Juicy Couture. She did all of those things, and now it seems she's crossing another one out of her bucket list. Not bad! Karlie is a great spokesperson, which makes her perfect for any brand. And I look forward to seeing her campaigns on my favourite beauty place on earth...the beauty area at Selfridges.

Kaia Gerber for I-D Summer 2018

Imagen
Last week, I talked about the "Daisy Love" campaign by Marc Jacobs, and Kaia was one of the models on that ad. I really like her representing that fragance, because it is really age appropiate and she looks comfortable. But I really like her on this editorial too, and it is quite different. I guess it makes sense because Kaia should easily fit on the "cool kids" group. And that's what this cover and editorial (and magazine) is all about. The cover is quite clever, and they didn't make her wink.

Nadja Bender for Porter Summer 2018, by Dan Smith

Imagen
I mostly buy fashion magazines because of the photos, which isn't groundbreaking. Fashion is very visual, and magazines are as well. But there are exceptiones. When I think about Porter magazine, I don't just think about their pretty photos (I absolutely adore their editorials as well). For me, they have the best articles. As I writer myself, I value the quality of the articles more than many people may do. For me there isn't a better feeling than reading an article and thinking: I wish I had been the one who wrote it. And that happened to me on pretty much every article published on this new issue of Porter. As a matter of fact, I kept on adding posting to different pages because I want to do a post all about those articles. But, like I said, I also like their editorials. And today I want to show you my favourite of the issue, which is one that also has quite an interesting article attached to it. It's about beauty, which might make it look less "...

"Daisy Love" by Marc Jacobs (Feat. Kaia Gerber)

Imagen
I have mentioned the perfume "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs in many posts. I have it and love it, and their campaigns have always been really good in my opinion. Kaia Gerber, who is already the face of "Daisy", is joined by Faith Lynch and Aube Jolicoeur for the campaign created for this new version, "Daisy Love". Checking the description and the notes is a bit confusing, but this seems to be quite similar to the original scent. Maybe even better, who knows? I'll have to check it out.

UK Vogue May 2018, by Craig McDean

Imagen
When Edward was announced as EIC of UK Vogue, everyone screamed "diversity! Finally!". They were excited to know that the British edition of Vogue (known for its lack of diversity) will stop being so out of touch on such an important topic. A couple of months later, on Edward's 6th issue, we got the diverse cover many were waiting for. As always, some people loved it and some despised it. The ones who didn't like it said things along the lines of how forced the cover feels, how forced the diversity feels. Despite wanting to see all types of men and women being represented (minus the ones wearing symbols that promote the oppression of men or women), I do feel it is slightly forced.  I also believe that diversity is more than just looks or race, but that's another story for another day. For 2 models featured in this cover, this certifies their status as the top new faces. Both Adut and Fran have now covered Uk Vogue and Italian Vogue. 2 out of the Big ...

Hunger Magazine #14: Alicia Vikander by Rankin

Imagen
My dear muse Alicia Vikander has been on quite a few magazine covers in the last couple of years. And while that made me happy as a fan, it also saddened me to see how clueless fashion professionals were when it came to working with her. Alicia is no Angelina Jolie, and I'm not just saying that because of Tomb Raider. Her beauty is softer and special, but she's no bombshell. She doesn't need to be one, by the way. But that means that you just can't style her for a cover shoot like you would another Hollywood star. It took Nicholas a while to understand that while dressing her for events (she's under a contract with Louis Vuitton), but he's getting there now. All the credit goes here to Kim Howells, who styled the shoot, and to Rankin for knowing how to direct her to take the best pictures. She's never looked better on a magazine!!

Meet Meghan Roche: New Face from the USA

Imagen
Meghan Roche (Pennsylvania, USA)                -Who is she? Meghan is an American model that I first noticed in July of last year, when she starred in the Givenchy campaign lensed by Meisel.  I actually did a post about that campaign and mentioned I wasn't sure if I liked her, or if I just liked that picture Meisel took. Well, now I know for sure it is her I like. -Career highlights so far: Of course, her Givenchy campaign is one. And the exclusive she did for them the following season is a highlight as well. She mostly has had runway highlights so...
