I don't think I can say anything positive about this cover. Awful outfit, awful pose, awful face...it's really bad.


No creo que me sea posible decir algo positivo de esta portada. Horrible vestido, horrible pose, horrible cara...es muy mala.




Vogue Portugal March 2014: Julia Shvets by Frederico Martins




I think this cover is quite good. I like the pose and the styling. It's nothing too special, but very nice. Too much text but, that's always going to be a problem.


Me parece una buena portada. Me gusta la pose y el estilismo. No es nada especial, pero es bonita. Mucho texto, pero ese es un problema eterno.



Vogue Germany March 2014 : Miley Cyrus by Mario Testino







I think this is way better than expected. It's tacky, I know, but they tried to make it tacky. And it kind of works. I mean, it could be worse. The ed, however, is quite horrible.


Creo que esto es mejor de lo que esperábamos. Es vulgar, lo sé, pero es algo intencional. Y no queda mal. Seamos sinceros, podría ser mucho peor. El editorial, sin embargo, es tirando a horrible.



Vogue Australia March 2014 : Mia Wasikowska by Emma Summerton




I'm not sure about this cover. It's beautiful, I can't deny that. But there's something off. Maybe the flowers? I don't know. But I like it.


Esta portada me crea dudas. Es bonita, no lo voy a negar. Pero hay algo que me perturba. ¿Serán las flores? No sé. Pero me gusta.




US Vogue March 2014 : Rihanna by David Sims




I hate Rihanna and I hate this cover. Period.


Odio a Rihanna, y odio esta portada. Punto.




Vogue Paris March 2014 : Lara Stone by Mert & Marcus




Lara is overrated, and this cover ir really bad. There, I said it.


Lara está sobrevalorada, y esta portada es mala. Ale, ya lo he dicho.



UK Vogue March 2014 : Daria Werbowy by Mario Testino



Daria everywhere...it's getting boring. This cover in particular is ok. I guess I should say it's good if we compare it with what UK Vogue usually does...so, that's good.


Daria en todos lados...empieza a aburrir. Esta portada en concreto es normalita. Supongo que debería decir que es buena, si me fijo en lo que UK Vogue suele hacer...así que, eso es bueno.

That smile...creepy.


Esa sonrisa...da miedo.



Vogue Brazil March 2014 : Alessandra Ambrosio by Mariano Vivanco




I like that they didn't go for a super sexy cover just because Ale is a Victoria's Secret angel. She's more versatile than most of the angels.


Me gusta que no hayan intentado hacer una portada sexy solo porque sea un ángel de Victoria's Secret. Es más versátil que la mayoría de ángeles.




Vogue Italia March 2014 : Saskia de Brauw by Steven Meisel




Dear Lord! This is disturbing.


¡Madre del amor hermoso! Me perturbar con solo verlo.



Vogue Turkey March 2014 : Doutzen Kroes by Cuneyt Akeroglu




That profile cover is stunning. The other one...not so much.


La portada con la foto de perfil es preciosa. La otra...no lo es tanto.

Blast from the past: Vogue USA December 1992, "Grunge & glory"

I was 3 in 1992, and I couldn't care less about fashion.As a 90's kid, I know who all the supermodels are because I saw them on the tv very often. But then again, it wasn't until 2007 that I started to love fashion, so I don't really know much about fashion during the 90's. That makes me quite sad, since it was such a great moment fashion wise. However, it's hard to find scans or videos of that time. This editorial has been scanned by kelles , at TFS forum. A couple of weeks ago, I was watching tv and I found a fashion documentarie on Sky arts. The documentarie is called "In Vogue: the editor's eye". You can watch it on youtube (I'll link the video in this post) if you want to. I really recommend it because, even if it was filmed in 2012, it's something that you need to watch if you really like fashion. Lots of iconic pictures are shown in this documentarie. That's how I discovered this editorial, shot by Steven Meisel. Meisel...

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon April 2018: Wrap up!

The readathon is over! And it honestly was a lot of fun. I hadn't been reading too much lately, and it was great to be able to dedicate one day to just that.  Now let me tell you about the 546 pages I read. El maratón de lectura ha terminado. Y la verdad que lo disfruté mucho. Últimamente no había tenido tiempo para leer, y me encantó poder dedicar un día a hacer solo eso. Ahora dejadme que os cuente que me parecen las 546 páginas que leí.   -"We should all be feminists" & "Dear Ijeawele, A feminist manifesto in fifteen suggestions", by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I gave 5 stars to both of these books. It was the first two I read, and I completely loved them.  I liked "We should all be feminists" a bit less, since it was more of general message. It made me think a lot, but I find "Dear Ijeawele..." to be more of my kind of message. As a feminist, I enjoyed both, but I found one more complete than the other. Highly rec...
