Elle France December: Karlie Kloss by Nico
During the VSFS, we watched a video where Karlie explained why ballet is so important for her. It definetely has helped her with her modeling career, since she moves like a ballerina very often.
Ballet is one of the most beautiful things someone can see. The way the ballerinas move is elegant, but also strong. There is a lot of strengh in their movements, and we can see that in Karlie.
She's elegant, but strong. Her walk is different and it makes her special. And she learned how to walk like that because she used to be a ballerina. She knows how to move her shoulders, her back, her legs,...while other models can't really do that.
You may think that only shows on her runway walk, but to me, it shows way more on her photos. This editorial is an example.
I also wanted to dedicate this post to my friend Verónica, because she's a proud fan of Karlie. And she also has a tumblr dedicated to her, that you should visit if you want to see lots of pictures and gifs, and all that fun stuff. Go check it out: http://justkarliekloss.tumblr.com/
The first 3 pictures are not my cup of tea, but the profile shots are beyond special. The confidence in her pose, the way she moves her head,...it's a picture, but you can "see" the movement. Besides, she's got a super long neck and that makes her look like a beautiful swan.
Despite not liking the first 3 shots, I have to say I love the ed. The title is "Une fille en or", and "or" means gold. That explains everything, doesn't it?
I love the way they added a touch of gold on each picture, since it's really subtle.
In the first picture, there's a hint of gold in her blonde hair and in her make-up. It's very simple and we could all do the same on our hair and face to go out.
In the second, they used some kind of make-up product to make her brows look like gold. It reminds me to the Dior SS 14 show, which is one of my favourite shows. This is my least favourite shot, but I like how it makes me think about that show.
Then we have the third shot, which is a close-up. I like the contrast they made by using gold and turqouise.
I told you already my favourite shots are the profile shots. The one where we can see the right side of her face is really cool because of the gold in the ear, which they did to try to recreate what the make-up artists did at the Vacarello SS 15 show. They used black for the show, and now they're using gold. I also loved the subtle touch of gold we can see on the hand. Not only do I like the jewelry, but also the nail polish. It's really subtle, but lovely.
On the shot where we can see the left side of Karlie's face, they used a really interesting technique to fake a golden blush. The shirt and the eyes are golden too. And I love the way they created that messy ponytail that looks so good on her. Also, her neck is incredibly long and makes the picture perfect.

"Une fille en or"

Karlie Kloss is so beautiful, love this post.
