Vogue covers (February 2013)

After a few months of terrible covers, we have a bunch of good ones. Funny to see that happening on february, which is supposed to be a weaker month. Let's see what happens next month, when big issues come out.

Después de varios meses de portadas malas, tenemos unas cuantas buenas. Es gracioso ver que pase en febrero, que se supone que es un mes más débil. Veremos que pasa el mes que viene, cuando los grandes números salen a la venta.


Vogue España February 2013 : Karlie Kloss by Alexi Lubomirski.

I love this cover. The pose is nice. Karlie is trying to be sexy but, as it says on the cover, it's kind of a new way to be sexy. She plays that role the way she knows, and the way she can. It looks sensual, but not tacky at all.

And the whole issue is really good. Great cast for the eds.

Me encanta esta portada. Karlie está intentando ser sexy, pero como dice en la protada, es una nueva manera de ser sexy. Ella juega ese papel de la manera que sabe y que puede. Es sensual pero no ordinaria.

Y el número enter es bastante bueno. Han escogido un gran casting para los editos.

Vogue Brazil February 2013 : Izabel, Magdalena, Bette and Mirte by Giampaolo Sgura.

Four covers...FOUR, and none of them look good. That has to be some sort of record.

The styling is awful, the photoshop is annoying...nothing works.

Cuatro portadas...CUATRO, y ninguna es buna. Debe de ser alguna clase de record.

El estilismo es horrible, el photoshop molesto...nada funciona.

Vogue Australia February 2013 : Naomi Watts by Will Davidson.

What a beautiful cover. Naomi looks really pretty. The sentence we can read on the cover ("Fashion in full bloom") is the perfect definition of the picture.
Also, I love how good this Gucci collection looks on print.



Que portada tan bonita. Naomi sale preciosa. La frase que podemos leer en la portada ("Fashoon in full bloom") es la perfecta definición de la foto. 
Además, me encanta lo bien que luce esta colección de Gucci en fotografía.

Vogue Paris February 2013 : Milla Jovovich by Inez & Vinoodh.

 Not crazy about this cover. The whole issue is quite bad. Every single ed is about NY, and every single ed looks the same. I'd have choosen a picture from Nadja's ed to be on the cover, not this one with Milla.


No me mata esta portada. El número entero es bastante malo. Cada edito es sobre NY, y cada edito es igual. Yo habría elegido una foto del edito de Nadja para la portada, no esta de Milla.

 US Vogue February 2013 : Rooney Mara by David Sims.

Too many things are off on this cover. Too many.

But I mean, it's not like I was thinking Us Vogue will amaze me.

I hope they do something big for March, but I know they would put another celebritie promoting something and that is too boring.

Demasiadas cosas no funcionan en esta portada. Demasiadas.

Pero bueno, tampoco es que esperaba que US Vogue me dejara sin palabras.

Espero que hagan algo grande en marzo, pero sé que pondrán a una celebritie promocionando algo, y eso es tan aburrido.

Vogue Russia February 2013 : Saskia de Brauw by Paolo Roversi.

I'm a big fan of Paolo's work, and that's what safes the cover for me. He's a genius.
I would love to see this picture with another model, because I'm sure it will look really pretty. But, Saskia makes it quite boring.



Soy una gran fan del trabajo de Paolo, y eso es lo que salva la portada para mí. Es un genio.
Me gustaría ver esta foto con otra modelo, porque estoy segura de que sería preciosa. Pero, Saskia la hace bastante aburrida.

Vogue Germany February 2013 : Constance Jablonski by Alexi Lubomirski.

Beautiful cover. It looks even better if you see it in person.
It's classic and perfect to make us see the cinematographic inspiration.
Also, the magazine comes with a free dvd about Diana Vreeland (at least it does in Germany, I don't know about other countries) which is really interesting. Great gift.


Preciosa portada. Es aún más bonita en persona.
Es clásica y perfecta para hacernos ver la inspiración cinematográfica.
Además, la revista viene con un dvd gratuito sobre Diana Vreeland (al menos en Alemania, no se si también en otros países) que es muy interesante. Gran regalo.

Vogue China February 2013 : Constance Jablonski by Patrick Demarchelier.

Nice cover. Constance did a great job this month. But I like the other one better. There are a few details that make this cover not so perfect, but in general is a nice one.
And I'm a purple addict, so it's obvious I like the coulours.
Fresh and simple, which I always say is something very very good.

Bonita portada. Constance ha hecho un gran trabajo este mes. Pero me gusta más la otra. Aquí hay un par de detalles que hacen que la portada no sea perfecta, pero en general es bonita.
Y soy adicta al morado, así que es obvio que me gustan los colores.
Fresca y simple, lo cual es siempre algo muy muy bueno.

UK Vogue February 2013 : Kati Nescher by Patrick Demarchelier.

I don't like this cover. But I love the fact that Uk Vogue is using models for their covers. They were using way too many celebrities. And this is a great change, even though I don't really like the models they pick. But, it is great news to see this change. For march they use again a model (Cara D.) and Edie C. is rumored to cover the april issue.

No me gusta esta portada. Pero me encanta que Uk Vogue use modelos en sus portadas. Estaban usando demasiadas celebrities. Y este es un gran cambio, pese a que no me gusten las modelos que eligen. El cambio es una gran noticia. Para marzo usan otra modelo (Cara D.) y se rumorea que Edie C. estará en la portada de abril.

Vogue Japan February 2013 : Vanessa Axente by Patrick Demarchelier.

Vogue Japan is always the same, so I don't even want to waste my time writing about this.

Vogue Japón hace siempre lo mismo, así que no quiero perder tiempo hablando sobre esto.
